I met the guy on the 40 Indian with the quiver on the handlebars. Looks like he removed the hatchet that he had straped on with it. He had just rebuilt the top end of the motor and was trying to find a spring to fit something on the throttle linkage. It had a puddle of oil underneath it about 6 inches across and the entire rear wheel was covered. He was hoping to get it running well enough to ride down to the meet. Looks like he made it. He said it's a '40 Indian with '36 sheet metal. Was saying that was an option back then for those who didn't want the new big sweeping fenders. I have no idea if he knew what he was talking about, but he was at least convincing.
