I've been doing a lot of reading on the VRCC forum about installing the Audiovox cruise control on a Valkyrie Interstate. The only place I found to purchase the CCS-100 is from https://www.murphskits.com/product_info.php?products_id=422. I'm just wondering if anyone has purchased one of these units recently? Is this a recommended site? Is there another seller that I should research?

Thanks,

RckyMtnRider

I bought mine from them and installed it on my Interstate a few years ago. No problems with it at all and I use it all the time.

Bought mine their also and installed myself, will be five years in May. Under 200.00 . Can follow almost step by step instructions with pictures on this site. I use my cruise control all the time, and along with the center stand and airhawk seat cushion is the best investments I ever made!

Another question. Did you build the vacuum canister as described in the Shoptalk article, or did you buy one?

Thanks,

I bought the original, NOS, and hope to install it before the Valhalla and IZ trip this year. But I'll be also replacing the intake o-rings, and desmogging, so I'll have more room. Figured I'm in there, might as well do it all.

I've read all I could find over the years. I was just going to hook it up to one vacuum port, and see how it fairs. But was also toying with the idea of a small "bottle" with 2 in and 1 out vacuum lines, and run that up to the activator, again, while there. Maybe something along the lines of 2" PBC pipe, maybe 4" long and end caps. Just something to balance out the vacuum pull, connected to opposite cylinders.

Mine doesn't have the vacuum canister and it works just fine. It has a vacuum line from each #3 and #4 with check valves in line then T'd together.

Don't they make an electric one? I would think losing some vacuum from a couple of carbs would affect those carbs. It would be interesting to put a Digisync on one and see how it affects the vacuum. I'd also like to put a cruise on.

Think I used five vacuum ports, tee them together with two lines going to the canister. I usually over due things. I made a pvc canister but liked the factory one better and used that. I mounted everything vacuum motor, canister under faring. I purchased the one way vacuum valves (can't remember what they are called) from a local auto air company. Made a little bracket out of aluminum to mount the switch, fits next to the choke lever. Works slick! Take your time and follow the instructions, route hoses and wiring, fuse, with care so as no chafing, or burning, take your time. If any questions there will be plenty of answers.

You are not really losing vacuum. It's sealed. I have Digisynched mine, all is good.  cooldude

I made a vacuum canister out of PVC as described and ran vacuum lines from #3 and #4 to it.  It's installed on top of the radio in the fairing (I/S).  Works great.  If I were replacing it, I'd probably look hard at the Rostra.

I would not install the Audiovox ccs100. I have built several and everyone of them fail over a period of time. I just installed the Rostra cruise control on my interstate that is the only way to go. No Vacuum to deal with. You can buy the rostra off ebay new for 229.00 for the kit with everything that you will need.

Like I already said, mine has been flawless for five years, and I use it always. Thought I had a problem once and cleaned the valves as someone posted on this site (a how to), but it turned out to be my front brake switch.
