I can't remember years but I've owned most all breeds, and even 2 of some. Started on dirt bikes in the mid 60s on Yamahas and Bultacos, and then moved to street bikes. 2-650 Yamaha lard haulers, 750 Honda, Kaws- 1-500, 1-750, 2-900s. 2-Goldthings,  1-Interstate, several Harleys - Electra glides Ultras, Street Glide, 1-Springer I still have, 2 -Valkyries, one of which I still have, Jade & black called Snot. Prolly missed some but that's close. I love older bikes, even if neglected. Then I get to rebuild them. Both my Springer and current Valk were just that. Now the both shine like a diamond in a goats ass.
[/b][/i][/u]

Hooter....did you go through basic training in Ft Knox by any chance?  Interestingly, was just talking to a couple folks this past weekend that did which is where they heard that phrase for the first time and it has stuck with them for 50+ years......

No sir, I heard that from my D.I. about boots and shoes. Wasn't trained there but evidently that saying has gotten around some.

Let’s see,
Honda Mini 50 (think my brother still has it)
Suzuki 125 (converted to go cart power plant)
Bultaco Astro 250 (totaled)
Suzuki 185 (sold)
Yamaha 360 (sold)
Then I got my drivers permit,
Honda CL450 (wore it out)
BSA Lightning 500 (traded)
Suzuki 305 (two-stroke) (traded)
Triumph Bonneville 650 (traded)
Honda 190 (sold)
Kawasaki 500/3 (traded for the 750/3)
Kawasaki 750/3 (sold, wish I had kept the 500/3)
Kawasaki 650 (sold)
Kawasaki 900 (traded)
Suzuki GS1100 G (sold)
Suzuki GS1100 chain drive (set up as drag bike, totaled)
HD Knucklehead 74CI (’39) (sold)
BMW R50 (traded)
HD Sportster(s) (sold, traded, gave one away to a niece as wedding gift)
HD Heritage Softail (sold)
HD Tour Glide(s) (sold mostly, had a few for parts)
HD Ultra Glide (sold)
Suzuki Hayabusa GSX (sold, too fast to own)
Honda VTX1800 (sold)
Norton Commander 850 (still own)
Honda GL1500CT (still own)
Honda GL1500CF (still own)

I know there are many I have forgotten and the order of ownership on the bikes listed is hardly correct. I have bought, restored (or at least returned to running condition) and sold many that I never intended to keep. The BMW R50 is one such that I held on to for several years as a reliable, smooth runner that was just fun to ride. I have owned several HD, Norton, Triumph, and BSA bikes circa late ‘60’s to late ’70’s that I rode only once or twice before they went up for sale. I wanted a Valkyrie in 2000 and decided not to look at new at that time. In 2002 I decided to buy new once again but was convinced by a Honda salesman that Valkyrie’s were nothing but a problem and being discontinued.  I finally got a Large Lady in November 2014 and now have two (what problems?).

196? Honda S65
197? Honda CB360
2001 Valkyrie
1982 Honda SilverWing 500I (forgot to list this one originally)

I got my first for my 13th birthday (in 1971). 196? Honda S65. I ended up buying 2 more for parts and had the whole corner of the garage filled with parts. Because it was a street bike that we rode off-road, second gear failed on every one I ever saw. Not mine, but looked like this

I bought the CB360 in the early 80s.

Got my Valkyrie in 2006; SilverWing in 2012.

I also a Honda 250R 4 wheeler in the late 80s, early 90s. Put me in the hospital for 3 days when I flipped it and put the footpeg through my tibia.

Finally, I have a 1999 Derbi Manhattan 50cc scooter I bought for my kids. Only new bike I bought.

I see that nice looking older lady in the background is laughing her keester off you on that scoot... 2funny

Just kidding,  I drove my scoot (although bigger 250cc) 110 miles yesterday since chance of rain and it did rain, otherwise would have taken the Valk.  Man, roads get slippery at first rainfall put my foot down on pavement and sort of glad I had 350lbs. to hold up vs. 850.. Shocked

I've already told my wife that when I retire I am getting a 3rd bike. It will be a Harley. Not because of the bike, but because the community is so active and large.

I'm a Harley tech and owned and rode nothing but Harley's until I had the chance to ride a valkyrie and that was it ,sold all but 2 of my 13 Harley's and have a interstate for my coast to coast bike and a tour model to jump around with, best motorcycle I have ever rode, no complaints except I wish Honda would make a new one that looks like the old ones. And thanks for keeping this club open and website going. Have a safe summer. Oh yeah its nice to run into ther valkyrie riders that don't act like a tough guy,

I see everyone has the same pattern of smaller cc dirtbikes going on into slowly increasing size streetbikes of various utilities and value and stopping at the best motorcycle ever made--power/style/reliability/handling/quality/support...there has been nothing like it since

First bike was a Triumph 650 TT special no lights or mufflers from factory.
then a series of XS 650 Yamahas.
   Then a few Cb 750s  a 1000 Huricaine
a Sportster or two and a 1100 shadow a couple of Valkyries and Street Glides
Now a   F6B which Itend to look at like my 1999 Valkyrie Tourer.
Just seems to be the same bike but so much smoother  and turns on a dime.
