I went to start my IS today when I noticed my kickstand wouldnt stayup. After a quick look it was obvious there was no spring.
Well it seems pretty obvious where the spring attched to the strut of the stand, but where does it anchor to the bike?
Could some one pop a quick pic of where the spring attaches to the bike?
From the looks of things I think looking from the opposite side of the bike would be the best angle. Thanks ahead of time

Look at the fish, page for the frame. It hooks the the bolt that broke off of yours.

Yep, thats it exactly!.
It looks like that bolt snapped. I can see the remains of the bolt in the hole.  I felt the other side of the hole and it feels like the bolt comes through on the other side. I wonder if its fixable

Of course it's fixable.  I believe you need a #6 Special 6mm (the special part is the nub the spring hooks to).  Riding over certain things like speed bumps can snap/rub it off, and many of us carry a spare #6 and #4 spring accordingly.  And a zip tie to hold the kickstand up if necessary to get home.  Lower (than OE 13") rear shocks improve you chances of rubbing it off.

You'll have to figure out how to get the the broken one out.

Mine have been hit, but never broken.

You mentioned a spring. Is that a special type of spring only from honda, or a Generic sprigi

I don't know.  I know that the Honda one works for $6.

You're kidding right?  Haven't you ever looked at the kickstand when the spring was still there?

Two simple and cheap parts to buy.

Xactly, except I did by a bolt two nuts and a long spacer at a hardware store and made my own mount bolt, but that spring I'd most definitely a go to h.d.l or procaliber and get the right one

Well, I dunno, but maybe if you got a really thick rubber band, and doubled it over as many times as you could, it might work.   Grin

Seriously, I suppose you might happen upon a spring or two that might possibly hold the stand up.... but that should only be until the Honda one showed up in mail (better 2, and two #6s).
