I need to adjust the torque on the steering stem adjust nut on my '00 I/S. I have a Clymer but it doesn't give the tool part name or number for the tool needed to adjust. I have seen pictures of it before but can't seem to find it today. If anyone can post specifics on the tool I would appreciate it. I want to have everything I need when I tear it down. Thanks.

Seems you don't have the Honda Service Manual.

PDF of the manual.

Thanks gordonv and Vaquero. I'm going to order the $106 part if I can find it. I plan to put a lot more miles on this bike. Thanks again.

You really only need that special tool and a torque wrench when installing new bearings. You need to torque to a high value then loosen and then the proper value. For adjustments without replacing the bearings just tap the nut around with a large flathead screwdriver to loosen or tighten until the resistance is right. The bearings are already seated and broken in.

I got numerous of the special tools a while back... you can put the tool
designation number into google, and a whole bunch of places to buy
will pop up... many of them will be boat places, as many of the same
tools are used on Honda boat motors...
