Say What You mean Mean What You Say

Rockyview County, Alberta 2001 Interstate

Last weekend I installed the "Signal Boss"....Through the process I hit a few snags partly of my own making and partly a Stubborn Signal Switch that would Not return to center position when activating the right signal. The Kit contains springs and little sponge pads...either will return the switch back to center position for the module to operate as designed. I thoroughly flushed the switch out with 'WD40 and Air Jetting' multiple times until all the crud was gone, but like I said, the right signal would still stick the "Odd Time" after flushing it, putting the lights into the escort mode...not good!! During the install I chose the springs instead of pads thinking that it would be a more permanent trouble free choice. After mulling over this glitch a bit, I decided to add a little chunk of the sponge pad material into the spring to that side...after many many attempts to catch a failure over a few days, the sticky switch glitch was gone...Problem Solved!!

Now that it is trouble free, I have to say, I am impressed at how the Module Works.
My Yamaha Bikes had self cancelling signals that worked off the odometer, so cancel was determined by distance travelled instead of time. A good system IMHO...as the signals would stay on at a red light for example.  The Signal Boss system Delays the "timed" cancel when the Brake is Applied, and/or by shifting into neutral...I think that is even better than the Yamaha setup. BOTTOM LINE...I RECOMMEND THIS MODULE!!
Here's how the Module works:
Left or Right Signal works as normal...to cancel manually, just push switch to the opposite position.
Escort Mode:  Hold the Switch in the Right Turning Position until activated...to cancel push the switch to the opposite position.
4-Way Flasher:  Hold the Switch in the Left Turning Position until activated...to cancel push the switch to the opposite position.
Setting Signal "On" Time Is a Simple Procedure Described in the PDF Manual.

Thans for the review and thank you Jersey for taking the time
to solve a need.

If I didnt already have 4 ways (courtesy of 3W) I would consider this safety mod.

My 4 ways also have the unintended benefit of audibly letting me know whenever my turn signals are on. Something to do with the fact I have an interstate I suspect.

Just direct-ordered the "Smart Turn System" turn-signal automatic cancelling system for the new Valk. from the mfr. yesterday. (~$100 + sh.) Didn't pay extra for speedy shipping and don't know when I'll get it, but I'll let you know what I think after I do.

I wouln't have used the old WD-40 for that task, it's not a good cleaner and will actually attract crud. I would have used a good electrical contact cleaner to clean them up and then lubed it all up with a few dabs of Di-electric grease.

Electrical Contact was not an issue. I used WD40 Water Resistant Silicone Spray Lubricant mostly to flush out the years of dust and crud. I repeated the spray and air jet several times until it ran clear.
