Preferably bluetooth, but 1/8" male input to headphone female is OK.

Was looking at Ultimate Ears Mega Boom, but before I buy, just wanted to get opinions.

Thanks.

Depends on how big you want to go.

I setup a small home entertainment system with my computer and used the Logitech Z-5500 THX-Certified 5.1 Digital Surround Sound Speaker System. They are awesome especially with blue ray high def or 4k DVD's and 400 watts of power really make the house shake. This system is in my office and while at my desk I kick my feet up and I can watch a movie in surround. I Have the z906 the updated system that has the same specs 400 watts in the bedroom and love the movie Battleship with this system for surround while in bed or just watching tv. Shows and movies on cable are so awesome with this system. While sitting in bed its kind of funny to hear sound from behind you. At work I have a much smaller but really good Z623 plenty of power good bass and its a desktop system that is about the best I have found.

So obviously I recommend the Logitech, good sound, good price, many different levels and it does have blue tooth. I have tried others and had to return them because the sound just wasn't good. For surround sound on a tv you will pay around 400 up for a good system but with the Logitech Z906 for about 350.00 on sale you have a true 5.1 surround sound system instead of a 4.1 or 3.1 system for much more. Computer speakers are not what most audiophiles consider as a good system so to get some good speakers it can be a limited choice. But with a good sound card a good DVD drive and good speakers you have about the best there can be in a system and without the cost sometimes of a dedicated system. If you just want a good desktop system then try the Z623 they can be bought at Best Buy or most retailers and I think you'll be happy with them.

I've been happy with these for my office.  They make a lot of models.  Have had no problems.  https://www.ebay.com/itm/Gigaware-4000378-2-0-Channel-Premium-Multimedia-Speakers/253332744032?epid=12012063961&hash=item3afbcee760:g:6bsAAOSwNWxaQ~Jk

I've been using the JAM classic sitting on the coffee table next to me and it is
surprising for the $. Beats the builtin speakers!

If you want the best NOTHING beats BOSE.

I use this one at work for teaching and it sounds great and will totally carry a large room.

BOSE speakers are really good, but they aren't cheap.

I've got two of these, liked the first so much I purchased another for the garage.  Crisp, room filling sound with good bass.  Play via Bluetooth or 3.5mm jack.  Can also unplug and slap in batteries for portability.   cooldude

Me, I just use some Walmart specials for $20 or so.

It's not my stereo, though clearly there is a lot more music on my puter than in my small collection.

The feature I want is a hole in one speaker for headphones (my earlier cheapo speakers had such a jack).  The speaker jack in the back of my puter is used by the speakers, so I need another jack in my speakers for headphones.  There might be an extra jack in my puter for headphones (I don't remember) but if there is, it no longer works.   You can tell I'm really good at this stuff.   Grin

Headphones can sound almost as good as good speakers (or better), and way better than my $20 Walmart specials.  And that way, everyone doesn't have to listen (and you won't irritate the dog).
