Rosanne is back on tv tonight on ABC as a Trumpe voter and supporter! Should be a hoot no matter how you voted.

This could be interesting and I wonder what happened to her to change like this?

I never watched Roseanne before, but I’m going to watch. I’m interested to see how subject is handled. Can’t be worse than watching the news shows.

So, I have seen the old show many times, but I wasn't "into" it like some people were. I watched it with my wife last night. Thankfully, they didn't use her Trump supporter position to make her look stupid. They did have her sister all decked out in liberal garb, and it made it somewhat amusing to see them jab back and forth. Overall, it was pretty good, IMO. Some of the timing felt off a bit, but it's been awhile since they all regularly acted together.

One of the scenes where I literally laughed out loud was the medication scene, which is the first part of this video I found on Youtube.   https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rV4aHnIhY_8

I enjoyed it.  Except for the Becky story line.  But it was funny how they got the "2 Beckys" together.

I think she handled being a Trump supporter very well.  I especially like the lines about her sister voting for 'Liar, liar, pants suit on fire" and when her sister said that "things are worse according to the news" and Rosanne snapped back with "Not the real news!"

Looking forward to more.

BTW, as for Rosanne's change in politics, she told Kimmel that she didn't change.  She said that they all moved so far away from her.

ABC....Bring Back Last Man Standing!! Maybe Fox Channel could pick it up.
I wonder how long before ABC cans Roseanne.
Ya...I don't like the inclusion of a gender bent kid, but what prime time sitcom is without this nonsense these days. It is for the most part why "I Cut the Cable" and just download the few good shows left(count 'em on one hand)

I watched about 10 minutes of it once.  Won't waste 10 more minutes of my life on her.

What passes for humor on tv these days escapes me completely.

"they all moved so far away from her" Bingo. Nailed it. I enjoyed the original show for many years, didn't watch near the end because they'd run out of ideas and it was getting old. It'll probably only take watching the new show a few more times before I wander away again. The gratuitous gender-neutral kid already bores me.
I did crack up last night when Rosanne told Jackie, " I should have understood that you want everyone to get free healthcare. I get that you're a good-hearted person who can't do simple math", and Jackie didn't even catch it was a slam.
It was interesting having both Becky actresses on screen at the same time, maybe she can work Tim Allen into a script...

Roseanne Returns to TV as Trump Supporter to Record-Breaking Ratings

Roseanne Connor’s political shift, resembling Barr’s own real-world anthesis, is a hit with TV audiences. Last night’s maiden episode garnered over 18.2 million viewers, the highest-rated sitcom broadcast on any network in over three years, according to the Hollywood Reporter.

The show’s viewership was the highest witnessed by ABC for it’s 8 p.m. Tuesday night time slot since 2006.

Almost, but not quite. 22 million for the 60 minutes show. According to Robert 18.2 million for Roseanne.

Dangit, now our misguided friends on the left are going to have to update their fact-checked™ list of 342,798 full truthiness™ lies of President Trump!

I watched it, and I don't watch TV. From the acting and timing you can tell these folks haven't acted in a while, but the writing was good and I laughed out loud more than once. The "in your face" black kid and tranny kid are a little irksome, not by their presences but by the knowledge that it's become a checklist item now that anything has to have. I'm sure the Muslim kid in a wheelchair will be rolled out in a future episode.

Overall, it was a decent show, and a refreshing breath of fresh air to see something that isn't on the constant drumbeat chorus of the hardcore anti-Americanism that's swept most of the entertainment industry recently.

Okay, I got curious and did some searching.

Not saying he didn't, but I can't find anything where Trump claims Roseanne had better ratings than the Stormy Daniels tabloid magazine thing.

But... I found some other folks claiming this, and it's true, depending on what you mean by "better."

(Specifically Greg Gutfeld "Sorry, Stormy, this other Trump woman trounced your interview in the key [ratings] demo. ")

Raw number of people watching, 60 Minutes turning itself into the National Enquirer did indeed have more people watching.

But what really counts is the infamous "Adults 18-49" demographic, that's the one everyone cares about, and in THAT demographic, Roseanne did better, with a 4.9 rating vs. a 4.0 rating for the 60 Minutes tabloid show.

Grin it’s rather telling that the politics have devolved to who gets better ratings, Roseanne Barr or one of Trump’s conquests. (I’m with Wizzard, haven’t watched her in years)
