Retired Supreme Court justice, John Paul Stevens, is calling for the repeal of the Second Amendment and is encouraging anti-gun protesters to do the same.

http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2018/03/27/retired-supreme-court-justice-stevens-says-second-amendment-should-be-repealed.html

Is this the true goal of the liberal left? Sadly, with the way things are looking now, I believe that it really is!

A 97 year old might have had a change in thoughts for various reasons. He's a long time away from law school and a justice.

I would seriously doubt that an engineering section head would ask my opinion on testing at age 90 and 27 years into retirement.

Makes good headlines for the Left but no rational reason to get uptight...........................YET!

Sure, go for it!

Here's a simple path to a gun free America and all that would entail:

Sure, go for it! quote by Serk

I hear you, Serk. However, there are a few more possible roadblocks.  Sheriffs who value the 2nd and are elected (for now), and police chiefs of SMALLER cities in the red states.

2nd. The Armed Forces who have sworn to protect and defend.  Would they regard their orders as  illegal orders?  How about the National Guard. Would the governors refuse to turn over control of them to the Feds?

All is iffy since Waco had the Feds using the military to combat citizens. Janet Reno took responsibility but we know how that turns out.

Too bad all I have left from a Lake Michigan boating mishap is an old pump 12 gauge. But you are welcome to come pry it from my cold, dead hands. I hope you bring plenty of friends!

Repeal the 2ND!

All that does is remove a restriction from the Federal Government for interfering with the right of the citizen.

They still have to remove the same restriction from many of the states.

Then try to pass restrictive federal firearm laws.

Then try to enforce them!

The biggie here is enforcement!

That is not going to work out well.........................

It's just my opinion, but I think that if they ever do repeal the 2nd Amendment, the 1st Amendment as well as several other Amendments won't be far behind.

If you're editing the constitution, you could amend the amendment, keeping state militias while repealing the right of individuals to bear arms.

There, I've solved your problems!  Grin

Might as well wish for ice-water in hell.  The procedure to amend the Constitution is very complicated and requires overwhelming majorities.  You think the Founding Fathers might have planned it that way?
I am always amused when people from other countries give input into how they feel our Constitution should be re-written.

As a side note, your cartoon is in very poor taste.

Careful Gryph, they DO NOT like their neighbours complaining about them.  They also do not like it when we get mad about illegal guns pouring into our country from theirs and the bullshyt that legal gun owners here in Canada have to deal with because our idiot leader is trying to solve other peoples problems....We're not allowed to talk about that....

NorthernValk, why don't you worry about your issues up there?  I mean, I don't give a rat's backside how many, if any, firearms get moved into your country from the US.  You have said many times you guys don't commit murder with guns up there, so our guns going up there are obviously not an issue if your citizens aren't committing murder with them.  And even if they are, I really don't care.
