I'm going to be in Virginia for the summer and would like to take my Valkyrie with me instead of leaving it in Mississippi. Unfortunately I need my car so I can't ride her back to VA, and I am unable to tow it. Does anyone have suggestions on moving it? I've searched shipping companies but it seems it would cost more than it's worth.
Thanks

Either the U-haul (one way), or you find a steal of a buy in VA, ride it, then sell it.
The lightest of trailers and a valk can probably be towed by most any small car.
Ride it out, greyhound back, then drive the car back again? (Twice?)

Unfortunately U-Haul will only let me rent a 5 x 9 trailer one way and it's too heavy for my car to tow. I'd also have to get a hitch installed, which is another added cost. Seeing as I only paid ~$1800 on my Valkyrie, I don't really want to pay 1/2 of that to just bring it with me for the summer. As for the greyhound suggestion, I've thought about it. I don't think my Valkyrie can handle being away from me for 3 months, all alone, in a storage unit...cold...in the dark...

Where in Virginia? It wouldn't be a huge deal for me to swing through Starkville on my way back from Hattiesburg to Frankfort, KY but, getting it to Virginia might be a challenge. When did you want this to happen and, how do you plan to make the return transport/trip? I have a daughter that lives near Hattiesburg. I transport quite a bit, taking two one ton trucks to northern MI in the morning. Rams

I'll be going to Newport News, VA. I'd like to have it shipped at the beginning of May. Return trip would be start of August (Hoping to get a new vehicle that can tow, we'll see) but not sure how I would get it back down here.

Edited: Actually, I could get the bike from Starkville to Frankfort pretty reasonably but, we'll have to work out something to get it to Newport News, I don't get back that way a lot. Getting the bike back to Starkville is another challenge to overcome but if you could get it to Frankfort, KY then I might be able to help get it back to Starkville at the end of the summer. Too many variables for me to say much. Ore than that. Renting or buying/building a bike trailer might solve your problem. I happen to have one of those also.

Ride your bike to Newport News. Fly back to Birmingham for $150. Drive your car back to Newport News...
Take backroads and two (or whatever) days on your bike, have fun.
Jam on the Interstate in your car...

for under 200 bucks total go buy an nice aftermarket trailer hitch/receiver for your car, install it yourself most are just bolt on or slight drilling required with plug and play wiring harnesses (usually?), and rent Uhaul small trailer tow with your own vehicle.
I did the install no drilling required on my 2014 hyunda santa fe no problems was like 6 bolts and plug and play wiring harness for around 170 bucks.
