Michigan vs. Loyola (Chicago) Villanova vs. Kansas Should be some fine college basketball this evening. Hoping for a Villanova-Michigan final (though the Jayhawks have my sentiments and Loyola is working miracles through Sister Jean), as I believe that would be the best matchup for an impressive championship game.

GO BLUE, indeed. Our guys have those FLUBBER shoes. Nothing personal, but I'm hoping the KS and Villanova game goes to 17 overtimes, and they get really tired. And that the Wolverines can get past Cinderella from Chicago.

Loyola ran out of gas with eight minutes left in the game, made some mistakes; Michigan caught them, took advantage and pulled away.
They were expected to be there and so they are. Congratulations to them.
Loyola got everything that they could out of their team and just came up short. Finishing this tournament in third/fourth place is certainly honorable for them.

That was no sure thing for the Wolverines. Credit Mo Wagner's 24 pts, 15 rebounds, 3 steals (and he stepped on an announcer's head). The rest of the team shot 4-for-23 in the first half. (We can't beat either Villanova or KU with that.) And he's just a great big (nice) kid. (Is that the basket we're shooting at now?)

No one can score in first half and then put up 47 points second half and win going away. When they rolled Sister Jean off at 1.39 God's Angel was packing it in on a really great story for this 2018 tournament. Right now Villanova is blowing Kansas out and they have been the best team through out this tournament and will be at least 10 point favs on Monday I would think. That said GO BLUE

Was pulling for Kansas, quite frankly, Villanova embarrassed them. Was a blow out.
I'll take Villanova against Michigan. Very impressive win over KS.

Wow, yes they did Rams. Villanova setting records with the 3's. Hard to beat that hot hand I had no dog in the fight so didn't matter to me. I think Michigan will be a better defensive team against Nova. Looking forward to a good Match up on Monday! How about the Girls Final Four tomorrow and UConn is not in it, hard to believe that ND got by them. Congrats to ND for the win but I'm pulling for the SEC, Miss. State Bulldogs.

Being a rabid Buckeye fan, I cannot root for that team up North.....but I also can't stand Nova!! Guess I can root for the Big 10....yeah I can do that I reckon. Gonna be a helluva game, UM could very well pull this off.

Villanova systematically took Kansas apart from the opening tipoff; the score was 22-4 at about the six minute mark of the first half. It was bombs away from three point land and they made mince meat of Kansas' defense whenever they chose to go weak side drive to the hoop. They had seven deep on the bench and Kansas couldn't find five guys to match up. Sorry Kansas, you got snuffed. If Villanova plays like that tomorrow, Michigan may suffer a similar fate, but in a closely contested match.

MI has great defense, but they'll have to come out and defend the 3pointers deep, and that will open them up underneath. But no matter what they do on defense, they're going to have to score lots buckets (close and far) to stay close, and if they don't, they will easily go down by 20. Which seems likely, unfortunately.
We'll see.

Yesterday’s games were the first college basketball games I’d seen this season, so I’m no expert by any means. But I’d be pretty surprised if Villanova can hit the 3’s like they did last night. Seemed like they couldn’t miss.

Seemed like they couldn’t miss. I wouldn't. They've been doing it all year. Maybe not 18, but 13-14 all the time. Not only the starters, 7 deep on the bench too. I'm not much of a BaskyBall fan either. It was never played where I grew up (baseball, football). My very first game (ever) in 7th grade gym class, I took a pass, tucked the big ball under my arm, straight armed my way down the court knocking people down, and blasted the ball off the glass back to mid-court. I don't think I'd ever even held a basketball until that day. This was hilariously funny to the rest of the gym class (and astonishing to the gym teacher). The gym teacher explained you had to bounce the ball as you moved. I replied that that was stupid, as it slowed you down and you risked losing the ball. So I had to sit on the bench and watch until I learned the finer points (for a long time). Never growing past 5" 9", it was never MY sport. Varsity basketball at my school was mostly short fast guys with passing and shooting skills (think Hoosiers), and all the girls liked it and many attended, so I went (mainly for the girls). But I follow my Wolverine's college and Detroit pro teams, and if any are doing well, I'll dial in.

I'm from Sturgis,MI and it was King in our area. Maybe being close to the Indiana border had something to do with that.

Well, I lived in 17 places before 1st grade (WV, OH, PA) and then rural Valpo IN from 1st to 3d, and I know it was Indiana, but I can't remember any basketball there, in or out of school. Don't remember any basketball at 4th to 6th at my MI elementary either. Recess I recall as fields with swing sets, and merry go rounds, a slide, and a jungle gym, and a lot of running around, and no hoop or basketballs at all (1959-65).
As I said above, I don't think I'd ever even held a basketball until that day in 7th grade gym class. And I haven't held too many since then either.
