I should have titled this if at first you dont succeed
Around noon I took the Valkyrie north to make some passes on the goat trail and maybe cross into Harriman Park
As we pass the town of Croton on Hudson there is one LEO in an SUV hiding at the top of an overpass/on ramp and coming home this 1st ride he was hiding behind a concrete bridge support
It is no secret that he is there so I was not speeding thru Croton anyways. But once past zoom zoom yahoo. Traffic was very sparse, maybe a dozen cars seen on the way north and that would hold true all day.
At the circle it started drizzling and the sky turned dark grey CRAP
since the forecast was snow tonite I decided to head home after 2 passes. The wind was pretty good around the cliff faces but still it felt really nice to have my face in the wind.
Once home I used the time to clean out the remaining 4 raised 4x8 beds in the garden and re-attach the deer fence that had come down in that bad snowstorm.
But around 3 the sun was out and I was feeling like, well like I was tricked by mother nature and that wasnt gonna stand so I put the mesh jacket on and headed back up along the Hudson
I saw a bmw bike ahead as I passed the LEO hiding in Croton again
(each time by the way he was on the opposite side of the highway !)
and he went to warp after passing the trap. I finally got even with him as we got into Peekskill and he pulled off into the Mobil and I continued up the goat trail again.
The wind was still pretty stiff along the cliff faces of Anthony's Nose (the name of the small mountain which houses camp smith) and as I got to the Y I made a snap (DDT type) decision to go north on 9D toward Garrison. That was a great move as I had the road entirely to myself.
At Garrison I turned left toward the train stop on the east bank of the Hudson and crossed over the little bridge to the park. There I took a pic of West Point directly across the Hudson
and enjoyed the peaceful setting for a spell.
unfortunately I cant figure how to post the 3 second video if someone will offer to help I will send it asap
Finally sated by the serenade of the waves lapping and the wind and birds I got back on the dragon and headed up the north access road.
There are low rock walls everywhere and some humongous old houses here. It is a really nice area- isolated but reachable by train and road both, just out of the way.
Heading south on 9D soon I came to the 403 intersection and headed east. This is a great road for the art of motorcycling even for a rusty rider like me. I saw a historic marker and executed a u turn and took this pic.
Those on my Columbus rides know about the battle of Fort Montgomery. The marker commemorates one of the redoubts on the east side protecting the access road that is now 403 from invasion by those pesky British.

Sadly, the shoulder lane disappears around that next bend and there are no safe places to pull off further east so I did not take any pics of small waterfalls or small bridges over the stream. But they remain in my mind's eye.
Coming back down 9 the LEO was for the 4th time on the other side of the highway

and I backed off the throttle just before hitting 3 digits on the speedo.
Hope y'all had a great Easter, maybe even getting a ride in
Tonite its gonna snow but I dont care now I got my ride fix
