I should have known better... not   laugh

Last night the wind was howling but when I woke up I didnt hear the wind and  when I looked out my east facing bedroom window the sky was clear.

TV said 33 degrees, wind doesnt seem so bad, lets take the bmw to work, after all tomorrow it will snow again.

With the Yankees in town there is a big problem with parking near both courthouses but not for the MC as I can park right in front of Court in back of the hot dog truck and there is a free helmet check just inside the building.

So I put on the Killimanjaro jacket and chaps (no electrics needed) and take off for work.  Bike ran great but the speedo has an intermittent wonky spell where it is loud and the needle bounces all over. When I slow to 5mph it goes away and does not return the rest of the day. Maybe it needs lube?

About 5 or so miles south I get onto the Sprain Parkway (just cars no trucks allowed) and as I get to the part just north of 287 the wind comes at me,  BOY HOWDY as my friend from Louisiana would say

saw the great volume of airborne shmutz flying around and the bike and yours truly were bouncing in the lane. Lowering the electric windshield did not help any so I just kept speed around 65 with traffic.  Isnt it great when you can say traffic moves at 65?

Saw a police harley going the other way, I waved but he didnt.

By the time I got to the office and checked weather I saw 40+ winds was what I was riding thru and would deal with on the way home as well. Some of the gusts were higher lol folks at court just look at me funny.

But I enjoyed it, like they say, any day riding can be better than sitting in a cage  it just depends on your mental attitude.   The ride home was slightly less wind with twilight about to come in.

Some people are never happy, first they cannot ride because of the weather then they can ride and they still complain about the weather. Sheeeesh  Grin Wink

In Florida the wind direction can change on a dime along with the intensity and the its so gusty that it makes it unpleasant sometimes. I count myself fortunate when the wind is behind me and not changing direction to bad. One ride in particular the wind was so bad that the windshield actually bent over a bit.

It's not so much the wind I mind, it's the dirt that comes with it.

Milk on the go  Cheesy

Drove through a dust storm in Vegas it was pretty scary since you couldn't see a thing. I was on a major highway and didn't want to stop and couldn't see more than 4 feet in front of me. Not fun.

One of the guys in my fantasy football league moved to Phoenix a week after one of these dust storms and two weeks before the next one.

His handle: I came between Haboobs.

LOL, I recognize that cow.  I took that pic on AZ 238 between Maricopa and Gila Bend.  It's known locally as dead cow road.  Eighteen wheelers use it to cut the corner when going from I-8 to I-10.  Unfortunately, free range cattle also inhabit the desert in that area and the two don't mix well.
