Well, I managed to outsmart myself again. (It seems to be becoming less and less difficult to do.) I just received my new STS Smart Turn System by USPO today. I bought it on March 20 after a lot of research and finally determining that this was exactly what I wanted/needed. I found that it was available from Amazon for $110, shipping was free or just a couple bucks because of the purchase amount. (I'm not a Amazon Prime subscriber.) However, I then found it on sale direct from the manufacturer for $99, plus shipping. I thought I'd rather deal with the manufacturer in case I had any trouble with it, and I may save a couple bucks over all. (I'm SO smart!) Got an email from the manufacturer six days later saying that "it has been ten days since your order and we wanted to hear about your new product experience" and to share it with them. I wrote back that I had not had any experience as I hadn't received the product yet. I got a replay back from the "CEO" saying "Okay! You are awesome!" (I do not lie.)

Bottom line: I got the gadget a few minutes ago, 21 days after ordering (Amazon would have had it here in two) and after shipping FROM SLOVENIA, EUROPE, my bank account was debited $124. Hmmm. And if I DO have a problem with it, would I rather send it back to Amazon and get no issues or back to Slovenia, where I here everything is awsome?  Some times I just piss myself off.

Thought someone else might benefit from my experience. This isn't an endorsement of Amazon.

It's too late now. But one of our members has developed a turn signal cancelling system. Have heard nothing but good about it.

What are the foam pads used for that I see in the pictures of those units on Amazon?

The foam pads are inserted inside of the TS switch. They force the switch back to center after activating.

KUGO, sorry for your experience, but thanks for sharing the funny story.   ;D :cooldude:

You are certainly not alone in the.... I'm going to do the smart thing, only to have it smack you category.

As a general rule, I've always thought it's smarter to deal with an outfit I can trust if there is trouble with a product, than a commercial intermediary whose plan will be to baffle me with their bullshit.  Even for a few more dollars.  And anything electrical or electronic is right up there with things that may go south in shipping, or not be accepted for returns.

At least yours arrived. I purchased mine in November 2017 in hopes of XMass. After waiting as per their website the requisite 12 working days and sending email got a reply to wait for a month. After another week sent another and they got flippant with me. After sharing their own ignorant replies from their CEO it took more than a month to get most of my money back ... For some reason they felt entitled to keep 12 dollars for actually not supplying a product. Maybe the CEO had to buy coffee for his employees and was a bit short of cash based on customer service and satisfaction. A friend of mine has one great product but if you have an issue or had to return likely be a crapshoot. My 2 cents stay away especially after reading about experience in this chain.

About 12 yrs or so ago I simply converted the handlebar controls to HD controls. Problem solved....and they're fully chromed to boot. Easy change to do.
