In a post that NewValker (Craig) put up a little bit ago Serk was talking about his PM's and how he didn't want to lose them. Well it got me to thinking about mine, and I went back and started reading mine. It was pretty cool. Read some from members that don't come around anymore for various reasons. Then I got to some from RJ, Extracho, and BF. I had forgot about those PM's and it was very cool having them. I kept reading and I get to one from Wiggydotcom . We had quite a few messages back and forth. He was very kind in helping me learn to post pics. Well then I get to one from him after I asked how his treatments were going. As I read it it dawned on me I screwed up big time.

he asked me to copy something and post it for him. For some reason I didn't understand that's what he was asking me to do. But rereading it, that is clearly what he asked me to do. Wiggy (Russ) I am truly sorry for this late post. Please accept my sincere apologies. I feel terrible for letting my friend down.

Dear VRCC,
I'm still amongst the living and things are actually progressing slightly in a good direction. I just had my second Cat Scan since this cancer ordeal. My labs are looking better in that my white counts and my calcium was good. My potassium was low so they were adding that to my chemo.
My liver has improved but not by a bunch yet. That's not a bad thing as the doc thinks the cancer originated in the area of the liver/gall bladder. So the idea is to stay the course and continue the current treatment until the next CT scan. I go though cycles of 2 Wednesdays of Chemo, one off(that's 1 cycle). Then after the skipped chemo, it picks up the following week with another chemo. After every 2 cycles, I have a Catscsan...which is what I just had.
I am SOOOOOOOOOOOOOO sorry for not keeping updated here. I put God, Family, Classmates and my VRCC Family at the top of my list for those I care about. I could NOT be getting through this without the prayers and words of encouragement that I am receiving from your folks.
I'd like to think I'm a strong person but sometimes I do break down and shed a tear or three....not at all over what I'm going through, but over the support I know you OTHERs are sending my way. I couldn't do it also without my wife, who is my caregiver----and my daughters who are my medical resources and are also at my checkups, 5 hour chemos, etc.
2 Days before Thanksgiving, my wife surprised me with a 62 yr old Birthday surprise party. I had NO idea it was coming and was filled with relatives, friends, and Classmates. There were over 73 people here filling up just the upstairs lever of our house!
Monday, I had the honor of sharing a visit with Ross and Dennis Patterson(Da Prez and Old2Soon). They came to my house and we shared a couple hours of lying and storytelling. I must say in all honesty, they both looked great and I was thrilled to see them. They've become pretty good friends of mine and lifted my spirits quite a bit Monday!
I apologize for being extremely tardy to putting some posts on here for my status but I really had to wait for that CatScan of last Friday to find out if there was any improvement myself. I hope to not be so tardy in the future.
I have a couple more Grandkids on the way that I've recently found out about so now that I've turned 62, my focus is no longer to say I can run faster on the twisties than anyone else(like it ever was, right?) My weight is down to 201 and part of that is because along with this fight comes a LOT of anxieties over not eating(foods DO taste different) after chemo. Keeping my weight up is tough.
But one of my goals will be to ride that F6b again----hopefully to IZ. I asked my wife if she wanted me to sell it and she said definitely NOT! By that answer, I'm hoping she remembers one of the things that's important to me and would do wonders for my recovery.
Since this is the time of the Season for Miracles and Blessings, I would just like to wish all my VRCC Family a Wonderful Holiday Season. In a perfect World, there would not be want or hunger, suffering, sickness, or people in need of basic items. I lift up my hands to the Lord and pray that those needs are fullfilled.
Merry Christmas, VRCC!!
