What's this? Went looking for my online pictures, and nothing.

Did a google search and found this on the main web page.

postimg.ORG domain is locked by Registry, no prior notice.
While we hope to resolve the issue, we chose postimg.CC as our new home.
Please update codes embedded in your websites.

Any idea?

I used postimg.cc and all my pics were there  :cooldude:
Or just click on my image to access the website...makes you wonder what's going on.
So why can't we just copy and past JPG's here...?

Say what you mean, Mean what you say.

If you are on Postimg and have pictures here on posts just go to the post select modify and change postimg.ORG to postimg.CC or just change org to cc in the picture link and you should be ok. Worked for me and my pics.

postimg is some kind of hootchi-cootchi "these Russian girls want to get to know you" site...
Every postimg pic posted here is a clickable link, which usually leads to the above. I figgered
it was doomed as soon as everyone started using it.

7th_son asks: So why can't we just copy and past JPG's here...?

I think mostly because running a free site where arbitrary people can upload arbitrary
data is like drilling out your own tooth cavities with an industrial hammer drill  :)

I use google to upload pictures. It is free to me, but they make money by tracking people.
I expect it is impossible to use the Internet without leaving a trail of bread crumbs everywhere
you go, so deep-pocketed google-like hosting sites seem like the best "free" solution to me.

I think there's a lot of ways to pay for a hosting site. At Amazon you can create your own
Internet connected virtual computer and run your own web server... depending upon
how much traffic your site attracts it costs anywhere from free to a million dollars...

It really depends on which link you click on to link your pictures to sites. They give you the option to link back to your Postimg database or just post the one link its your choosing. If you click on 7th son picture above it takes you to their site if you click on mine it does nothing its just what you choose to do. So those Russian girls can know you or NOT.  :D

Great shot by the way

Well, I just went on Postimage.org and clicked on "my images" and it opened up as usual even though that above message was on there. As for losing pictures, I hope nobody ever posts on there directly from anything but their computer. If a pic is important enough for me to enter it into any posting website, it's important enough for me to first load it to the hard drive.

An example of just using Postimage:

I can't get on posting.CC for some reason. Every time I try on google it takes me to the search page and asks me if I meant posting.org. How are you guys getting on? Hate to think I'm going to o find another hosting site.

Never mind postimage is working for me again.
