It is better (than a stick in the eye), but with a shooter, it's like asking teachers to become kamikazes.

But I think the way to look at it is, it's a move in the right direction.

Might cut down on classroom horseplay too (just the thought, not actual use).

(My dad used a little wood one once on three drunks who jumped on our boat in the middle of the night loudly claiming they were going to make the owner take them for a sail.  He made all three go for a swim instead, in about 6 seconds.  Hey, we were only kidding mister...... whap, splash.
