Hi, All. We just had our first (fair-weather) ride-able days in Charleston, IL (almost an hour south of Champaign and home of Eastern Illinois Univ., apropos of nothing other than trying to let you know about where I am geographically in the national motorcycle market.)
Had sun and 75 degrees and got it out for the first time since last fall. Cathartic does not fully express my joy! While riding, I stopped by the local Honda Powersports dealer ("Owen Honda and Indian") to see how backed up they are in service. I have bought several accessories over the winter time, but only installed the non-electrical ones, as I didn't want to take credit for totally messing up my pristine wiring harness. (Been there, done that.) After taking care of that, the service mgr. told me to check out the new inventory on the floor. He said that they had eight brand new '14 and '15 Valks, had sold three in the past two weeks and had put three of the rest on the floor. They had a black (non-ABS), a red, and a bright red '15 on display and he said they also had one blue one left. PRICE: $9900 each, take your pick, '14s and '15s same price. (I didn't ask if they both came with the same warranty.)
Had seen others post similar info in the past and, besides wanting to know about availability, it's nice to know the (supposed) market value in various parts of the country. Just throwing it out there.
Wishing similar cathartic rides for the rest of you that can't ride four seasons like some of our brethren!
