Stock OEM Petcok Knob To Control Pingel

Not trying to start a discussion on which is better between OEM petpock and Pingle, but....

Some time back, some one posted about modifying a Pingle petcock to be controlled by the chrome OEM  knob. I think that it involved removing the Pingle 'handle' and drilling a hole in the shaft? Does anybody have a link to the article. That is all I remember about it.

That would be trick considering the Pingel has a vertical axis on the lever and the OEM is horizontal.  That describes all of my petcocks but maybe there's a horizontal Pingle but haven't seen it.

I've also never heard of it. 

What I have heard of is putting the Pingle underneath, and leaving the Honda engine hangers in place and jury rigging the old petcock switch to keep the hole in the engine hangers filled with something (but it no longer does anything).  Supposedly you can still reach under there to change the Pingle settings with engine hanger trim in place, but I never had a Pingle so I'm not sure about that (or how small your hands have to be).

I think that issue (engine hangers with chromy petcock switch in the hole) is one of the bigger reasons more people haven't switched to a Pingle.  Both my OE petcocks have been rebuilt once, and seem to be doing OK.  (But I'd rather have a Pingle non-vacuum, as I have no trouble remembering to shut them off.)  My theory on vacuum lines, is they are all designed to fail; it's just a question of when.

I think he had a shaft coming out of the chrome knob with a arm on the end. Rotating the knob resulted in a front to back movement of the arm which had linkage connecting to the extended 'handle' coming out of the single. Or something like that.

You could design a remote push pull knob using a cable as the actuator in place of the existing rotating knob and shaft.
