Asking 25grand or best offer
It's gonna be door number two.
A new one unopened/unassembled in an original Honda crate would be lucky to command even original MSRP (IMHO). Unless a couple guys got in a bidding war or something.

If the bike was pristine, maybe someone would but most bikes here look better and probably run better than that bike that was stored in a poor fashion.

It is a tear down and restore. New tires and hoses. Sitting is worse than driving. I'll give $500.00. I will not part it out

Not seeing the molding nubbins on the tire sidewalls either. At any rate still priced 5 times higher than its actual value. My riding buddy is about to sell his 98 Standard that is loaded with all the right accessories and under 25K miles but ridden regularly for under $6K. I would buy his bike long before that "new" bike. Someone will put a bunch of money and effort into that just to get it running and presentable. $3500 bike at best if the mileage is legit.

Several year ago I ran into this on evil bay:
1997 Honda Valkyrie 1997 HONDA VALKYRIE- 1606 ACTUAL MILES Ended: Aug 14, 2009 07:28:49 PDT Price: US $18,500.00
I laughed myself silly, a few days later it showed up again at Price: US $12,500.00
Later it showed up again at Price: US $11,500.00
I tracked it down and realized it was 40 miles from where I lived. So I sent the following message:
Dear rossrog,
You either want to sell this MC or not. If not ignore this message.
If so, respond with a reasonable price. Note that a NEW 2003 with 500 miles can be bought on Ebay today for $9995.
I am 40 miles away and have the cash, and can be there almost anytime.
Thanks Pete.
Sure enough he responded with a much more reasonable offer and I bought the bike. I tried to ride it home and never made it. When I filled the tank, gas flooded the gas station parking lot.
It was like new except for 2 issues a ruined gas tank/petcock and gummed carbs. The PO had installed tires, new battery, leather Hondaline bags and windshield, and some tasteful chrome additions. Someone had "tried" to derust and line the gas tank unsuccessfully.
I got lucky and found a new tank for $89 + shipping. Then bad luck UPS forklifted the tank enroute. Then good luck the UPS insurance paid for the tank and shipping. So zero dollars in a dented tank.
Local auto repair repaired and painted the tank for $250. I cleaned carbs ($10 materials) and replaced the petcock ($100+).
It runs like new and looks like new. I may have paid to much $7500 in 2009, but with the repairs it is like a new bike.
Moral of the story, if someone likes the bike "MAKE THEM AN OFFER" all they can say is NO.

The description in the ad: 555 km My dad bought it in 1998 brand new Road for one week and got sick and can’t ride anymore Bike has been sitting in barn covered since Asking 25grand or best offer It’s brand new Everything is original and working mint shape
How would the son even know that it is in "working mint shape" as it hasn't even been moved in 20 years? For all he knows, there might have been many generations of mice born in the air box. And why wouldn't he at least wash a vehicle that he's trying to get 20% more than the original retail price for.
BTW, CAD 25,000 = approx. USD 18-19,000

it truly amazes me the asking price of most cycles and such similar items when the owner NEVER even washes or waxes it to make it look presentable and then expects MORE than top dollar.
If you want to sell it, wash and wax it. I cleaned up my 1983 v65 magna with 46K miles that I might sell soon and looks pretty darn clean with not much rust, etc. anywhere, but needs new rear turn signals and new back tire. Priced accordingly at 1600 since not much out there 35 years old that runs decent and not all rusted out that needs a ton of work to it already, not pristine, but good under 1500 bucks. If I cannot get at least 1500 going to keep it since have seen $1500 magnas in a lot worse shape for that asking price. Most will try to make me go down saying needs tires or turn signals, but then the price will go up not down.

If you watched Antiques Roadshow or American Pickers you'd know you can get much much more if you don't clean anything. You may lose millions washing away that patina.
