Accessing IS front speakers

Im going to replace my front windsheild. I figured while I tearing the faring down I might up grade my speakers. How easy is it access the speakers
If at first you don't succeed, then perhaps skydiving isn't for you

If you have never had the inner fairings (speaker panels) off you ride yet, expect to find a few of the screws turning, and not coming out.

Use a putty knife, and pry the cover off while turning the screw. The metal seat of the screw will strip out of the plastic of the fairing.

If this happens, get back to us, and we'll tell you how to repair, maybe even the part # for those inserts.

Before putting the screws back in, a VERY lite dab of antiseize compound, and you don't need to tighten them, just snug them down.

+1 on what Gordonv said. I replaced my speakers this winter and several of the metal inserts came out. I used a glue gun and heavy duty glue stick to reseat them.

Many people have done the Polk Audio speaker upgrade. Do a forum search many threads on it.
They mad a big difference over my old small factory speakers.
