Rolled out from my casa about 0900 this morning fueled and got on Mo-76 West to Mo-181 South to Twin Bridges which is at Jct Mo-14 and Mo-181. As I started down the long hill just before Mo-14 I saw a M/C and brake lights and it was my ridin bud J T. Had to pull into T Bs parking lot as my insulated leather gloves weren't enough. Had the insulated snowmobile mittens in the saddlebag and those WERE the ticket. Did I mention it was 45 F and HUMID?
Stayed on Mo-181 to US-160 West the other side of Theodosia and got onto Mo-125 South to the Ferry at Peel Ar. Met and old gal and her husband on the wait line to the ferry and they were surprised at the O2 bottle and cannula I was using! Splained Aug 16 and then they got it.
Ride off the ferry and the further South we went the thicker the clouds got. Got into Yellville Ar. and fueled at the shell which has the electronic whizz bang pumps. Everything BUT a cash option. Reason i'm bringing this up-after I had to go inside to get her to activate the pump I finished with a cash total on the pump of $7.65. Walked in and she told me $7.47? W T F-over? This is NOT listed on the pump nor near the cash register BUT cash is 6 cents a gallon less than the price posted on the pump. Nudder words yer payin more with a credit card!  :uglystupid2:
Well after some discussion we elected to go back the way we came back on the ferry stopped in Sparta-I needed a cup of coffee-continued up North on Mo-125 just as purty at it wuz the last time!  :coolsmiley: All the way to US-60 East and fueled again in Mountain Grove Mo and back to our respective casas. It only got up to 63 degrees F most of the day and when I put her back in her cave I'd wadded up 293 miles.
NOT too shabby fer a couple of older guys-well I'm older than J T but he's still working a job sides the place he has!  :2funny:Mind Cleanse-check Brain Flush-check Soul restoration-check Mission accomplished.  ;)  RIDE SAFE.

of course most places charge more for credit as they have to pay 3% or thereabouts to the credit card company

That said I usually go to speedway (which was Hess) as its one price only.

Glad you had so much time in the wind O2S

And....since it's a business expense, get what happens come income tax time! They don't lose a dime by taking CC's, then make money on them in the end....which is where the customer gets it; in the end!  >:(

my local mom/pop 2 pump gas station (87 and diesel only one pump each) old school owner been there near 35 years use to give 3 cents per gallon cheaper vs. credit card pricing fully advertised outside in big numbers pricing of both cash and credit per gallon.  Lately, he has been doing 6 cents cheaper per gallon of gas which almost makes it worthwhile to carry cash around but I do get 2% cash back on my credit card so still pays to use my credit card mostly to pay for gas.   .06 cents off 2.599 is about a tie at around a 2.3% reduction so about the same as using my credit card at 2% cash back.

I talk to the old timer owner and he says the credit card fees keep going up and up and up well over 3% now and he is old school totally HATES credit card fees paying them so giving more of a discount to discourage credit card users which his credit card price is same as rest all around him.
