About 10 years ago, my oldest daughter was diagnosed with lymphoma after taking biologics (Embrel, Methyltrexate etc) for years for JRA .

I asked for your prayers and as soon as she went into remission she signed up for a half marathon and I asked for your help... and wow did you folks come thru.  I matched what y'all did and she completed that half marathon and many more events for lymphoma research since.

Now the great part, Alana was married in July and just gave birth to a baby girl 7lb 12 oz - Emilia Brooke Eiseman is her name
So Oss and Bonnie is now a grandpa and grandma   !

Now come the fun parts.

Alana with her husband at the wedding and the baby now

Funny what being a Grand father will do to you.
I was never the great father that others seem to find
so naturally. But when my Grand daughter was born
and I held her and started to watch her grow it hit
me like a ton of bricks what it was all about.
Found it to be God,s way of maybe giving me
a second chance at it.
I love holding this little girl, only thing is I have to go to Scotland
to do so.

Wow, I wasn't on VRCC that long ago so I had not known about your daughter. What a answer to prayer for sure. A very courageous young lady and concuring her illness only to run a  half-marathon.  angel
Great pic of her and her husband. Congrats on being a Grandpa and know you'll be the best.  coolsmiley

Oss, blessings come in many sizes and shapes we just need to be able to recognize them. You have a beautiful healthy daughter and now a healthy and beautiful granddaughter. Being proud and grateful comes with the territory, enjoy all that God has given to you and your wife.

Remember “God cannot be everywhere at once, that’s why He created mothers.”

I hope God will continue to bless and watch over your family and the only tears that fall are tears of happiness.

I hope this is the correct usage as a toast; Mazel Tov

That is awesome. Being a Grandpa (or Pappy as my youngest two Grandsons call me) has been the most rewarding thing in life for me so far. I suspect it will be for you too. Enjoy and congrats!

Congratulations to all five of you Evan.

I don't know much about genetics, how do two Sons become  four Granddaughters?

Our twins (first Son) are 16, the babies (our second Son)  are 2 & 4

But I do know Granddaughters are getting Expensive.

PaPa & Nana came easy to us.
