So, maybe we need to discuss this place. For Sherry and I we have always had good food and like the choices on the menu, however I have gone through the negative reviews and the from this list have experienced very slow service and being told we are out of this or that. Yesterday they were out of F&Cs and they ran out of lemonade. The wait was very long and even longer for the Larue, Burt, Greg and Chet table. Sadly, the environment is nice shady and unique. They do not sugar coat or actually they advertise boast in many places that they are not in the customer care business. What also sticks out in my mind is Billy Boy told me a loooong time ago that he wrote this place off. What that tells us is, same as it ever was and we will always wonder what we will receive if we go here. Sherry tried to call from Floral Park but the Phone was disconnected, interesting a? Well do we take it off the list or make sure we go early, or just deal?

FWIW, that's the second time I've been there and nothing has changed re. service. When it gets busy the poor waitresses run their tails off but get the brunt of the complaints. I agree, the food is good but that's not enough for me to continue to make the trip over there. To get there early means an early start, from this side of the state that means a REAL early start which I'm not prone to do assuming I can get away. To me, it's not worth the aggravation.

Well, for what it's worth, I was unable to make the ride.  Maybe I can make a ride in the near future.  However, I would think that there would be other places to eat, by I'm not familiar with that area.

The other location has better prepared food and service. This had better roads to ride getting there. I wrote that location off years ago. It's still a great ride though and good company.

I have a hole new list of favorites. I'll dig out the addresses and post them.
If you can't be a good example: be a WARNING!!

I would say "pass on it from now on", one thing to keep in mind is, if they are not too worried about the customer service, communication, reviews, etc, would they worry about what goes on behind the scenes as far as cleanliness and food safety?

Just my 2 cents.

As a group ride I post and lead I will not offer RR anymore.  I am bummed as it is nice to be on the river as it looks so nice and man the place has some shade but it is what it is.    :(

I've been to the blue gator, stumpknockers, both have great location, service and food. Good prices too.

Another place with good reviews is Swampys in Dunnellon, Murph and I went there a while ago.
On the river with real nice views.

Life is like a hot bath. It feels good while you're in it, but the longer you stay in, the more wrinkled you get.

It just shows-to-go-ya that someone else needs to post a destination RTE as Jerry is getting crusty.    :cooldude:     :uglystupid2: :coolsmiley:

Jerry, the unofficial leader of the soggy bottom boys aka Steve is laid up for maybe another 3 months. So it's up to you to carry the torch. We cherish your ride choises, all does back roads and the way you can get a group together on short notice. Enough of all this praise, Its getting thick.lol. You're doing a great job
