Hello all,

Looking for some feedback. I'll be meeting up with my son that lives in Charleston and we'll be making our way to the big event. I'm hoping for some favorable, non-super slab route suggestions if possible but will also consider combos.

Appreciate your guidance, thanks.

The best direct route would be SR38 & SR9 to Rockingham NC to US 220 to Roanoke.

For the most scenic why not have your son meet you a good bit more West of Charleston? He can shoot West on I26 easy enough. Ashville to Roanoke on the BRP can be done in a day. But allow 2 days if you want to enjoy it. Don't spend the night in Boone NC. You can't get a room there for less than $100 a night.

That is what I would do it . Our group will more than likely be spending the night in Galax , Va just off The Blue Ridge Parkway the Saturday night before the early bird deal in Roanoke.

Yes, BRP is the plan for the return trip when we should have more time to appreciate it, really looking forward to it.

We took in a small piece from the Ashville and Great Smokey Mts area when they first moved out there late October 2016 just in time for some Fall colors but it was just a teaser, quick overnight run and back.

Very easy issue to solve. Look at a map to get an idea where Roanoke is. Then throw it out and take any back road that puts you in the direction.
