so what is a good price say on a bone stock 2014 red honda valkyrie with 6K miles or so on it?  I would have to add a taller windshield and hard sidebags, but that is about it besides hwy. pegs upfront.

sold the old 1983 v65 magna today so have a good downpayment on one at least.

I have been reading up and seems like new ones are going for 10K which is dirt cheap considering msrp pricing so would think a 2014 with very low miles say 6K or so would go for what???  7K or 8k or ???

thoughts?

I prefer an all black one but would not mind the dark red either I guess?

Have you ridden one yet? I did and I honestly wouldn't buy one at any price unless it was to simply resell it for a profit.
With new ones to be had at sub $10K I wouldn't pay anymore than $7000 for used.

Yup have taken many rides and wouldn't buy anything else. A price of 7 to 8 seems about right, just check and make sure, considering the bike will still have the factory warranty also a nice perk. You may also want to post this on the 1800 board.

What are your issues with the new Valkyrie?  I have my 99 IS SuperValk and a 2014 Valk with Corbin Bags/Seat and a Gustafason shiele.  Rides great to me.  A little different than the Legacy Valk and I enjoy riding it.

Check eBay for pricing.....new ones can be had for a little under 10k but the accessories are still pricey (bags/seats).  Last year a local guy got a new one for 8K plus TTP, and I got a used one with bags/seat and quite a few other accessories for that price as well.

My reasoning in asking him that question was that in my case at least there was no relationship to the original Valkyrie other than the name and my expectations of there being some similarities between the two models were completely invalid. I personally didn't care for it, I found it to be too narrow, especially the mirror placement and at that time the F6B at nearly the same pricing provided more of the features that matched my expectations that had come from many years of ownership of my Interstate.
You have done an incredible job on your bike and would never speak ill of someone else's ride, they just aren't for me. Based on the sales I am apparently not the only one with these thoughts towards the latest Valkyrie but for what you can purchase one for now, that is alot of motorcycle for the money and I can certainly understand why someone would snap one up.

The relationship between the old and new is....name, flat six power/torque and smoothness (which the 1800 is mo better IMO).   It is a different ride, but they are both good, just a little different.

When the new Valkyrie came out, I didnt like the looks of it but it grew on me in a different way I guess.  IMO it is much more nimble and lighter than the F6B or  full Wing.  Most bikes need some kind of modification or accessories to make it more comfortable or personalized.  I got a used one with the accessories that I wanted, and then some.  Others like new and making it their own.  To each their own.  Some have said that I have 2 similar equipped bikes and wondered why I made the new one like the old one.....its a personal thing I guess.   I'm till not a fan of the front end looks on the new one, but dont notice it much from the saddle position when I'm riding it.   I would not have paid full retail for a new one when the MSRP was 17,999.....but it's a hell of a bike at a price under 10k new, and less for used.

Enjoy what you ride regardless of what it is....

I had the privilege of riding Psycho's Valk out in South Dakota thru Needles Highway and all the points between Spearfish for a full day ride with Woton, bikergirl and Wiggy.

It was set up for a smaller rider and together with the narrow front tire, it just wasnt for me but the power was indeed really nice to have on hand. It was much lighter than my Interstate

In fairness to the bike, some of my unease may have been due to only having one (mostly) functioning eye and one barely functioning eye due to an adverse prednisone reaction after poison ivy going ballistic on me. I had leaks in my retinas - kind of like looking thru mud  Fortunately My eyesight recovered (mostly) and I managed not to ding the bike in any way

Hubcap is about my height (Im 6.3) and I know he did some work to make it fit him

Take a good test drive before buying is my recommendation

no have not driven a new Valkyrie yet, only sat on one and was totally different than my old Valk I/S, felt pretty small to me and first impressions was not for me, but it could grow on me maybe??.  I did like and test drove the F6B though and fit me better.

I think with better handlebar placement, different seat, taller windshield, and hard side bags it would fit me better vs. bone stock.

I was thinking 7K even bone stock would be a good deal but would be nice for 8K if came with options wanted already but most have seen used which is few and far between are still plane jane bone stock.

sort of shocker to see a few out there being say 2014 now 4 years old with only 6K miles or so on them not ridden.  Heck, I put that many miles per year on my scoot.

There is a 2013 F6B on Craigslist in Appleton for $9200, 21,000 miles.
