While my date of divorce is Now important that weren't the one I'm talkin bout. April 20th 2018 IS the anniversary of 16 years SMOKE FREE. While I am loaded up with C O P D I am Still in fact walkin on the lawn and NOT part of the lawn. BUT when I do pass this mortal life No Matter WHAT the Death Certificate states my actual true cause of death Will be directly related to all the years I did in fact-smoke. So to All my Brothers and Sisters and Friends here that are still smoking I have but one question and a suggestion-WHY? The suggestion-QUIT. RIDE SAFE.

I quit 10 years ago this past January. Not the easiest thing I have ever done, but probably one of the best for my health. So far no signs of COPD, just gained a bit of weight. O2S, always best to be on the top side of the grass rather than being under it.

Quit 26 years ago this May 20. My ex kept puffing, got lung cancer, beat that for a couple years then passed about Thanksgiving 2016. In fact her and 3 of her 7 siblings all croaked from smoking. Told my kids - pay attention - do you want to join them early? They both quit. But my son still backslides now and then. Now I'm dealing with problems from agent orange. At least, smoking won't be on my death cert.

Congrats, I'm right behind you .later this month it mark 14 years for me smoke free. Wife had severe asthma, dog sneezed in my face and so when I was awarded a quad bypass I figured I could quit. One of the arteries arteries is plugged now but I'm still walk-in. My son is just about 1 yr now after his heart attack and one stint at 38. Dr said: you have to quit and he done so also cold turkey.

Dennis, that's great, a much better anniversary to celebrate in my view. I quit cold turkey 53 yrs. ago this past March. Was on my way out to Argonne Nat'l. Labs, SW of Chicago, went to light one up and said screw it then tossed them out the window. Followed that with my 509th Bomb Wing lighter I got as an award. Haven't touched one since, haven't missed it.

yep, smoking catches up to most of us when in 60's or even earlier for some. Unfortunately, my 2 uncles and 1 aunt now gone from smoking and guessing another 2 uncles and one aunt soon did not get the hint decades ago. My mom is the oldest by far of 11 kids and besides her mind gone, her health body wise besides walking is pretty good as compared to the 10-20 year younger brothers and sisters suffering from oxygen deficiency in the lungs.

Thank you ALL for the encouraging words. The first month after layin em down was the most difficult But GOD made sure I did NOT falter. I thank Him every day for the continuing help. Those oif you that have some impressive totals smoke free-keep up the good work! Those of you just starting the quitting process-do NOT give up it IS very doable. Those responding here are the Proof of that. RIDE SAFE.

You guys heard about the two hookers talking late, after work.
One asks the other: Do you smoke when you're done"
The other looks down at her lap: I dunno, I never looked.
