Of course, his success is yet to be determined; but personally, I'm very excited by the news!!

Sadly, Wayne LaPierre is not going anywhere. Sad

The president position of the NRA is mostly a figurehead. Oliver North is replacing Pete Brownell.

LaPierre the capitulator is the Executive Vice President and CEO, and remains in this multi million dollar per year salary position.

Wait... what?? Undecided

Well crap! Way to burst my bubble!  WTH did Pete Brownell ever do?  I only recently rejoined the NRA after a long hiatus, because of the rash of anti-gun crap.

Exactly... NRA Patriot Benefactor Life Member here (That means I've given the NRA waaaaaay too much money over the years). I hate the NRA, I love the NRA. They're spineless cowards, but on the bright side, they put themselves out there and take the arrows from the enemies of freedom so the REAL defenders of freedom like GOA and NAGR can do God's Work behind the scenes...

Don't feel too bad... I still love the NRA, I just hate them at the same time... Kali, my now 15 year old spawn, requested and got her BIG X-mas present early last weekend, and became an NRA life member herself...

If it's any consolation, I talked to several newly minted NRA members at the NRA Meeting this past weekend that don't even own guns, they're just so disgusted by the enemies of freedom latching on to the recent wave of Soros inspired silliness they felt inspired to join...

(And most of them were now shopping for their first guns... mostly AR15's... Wink I love the smell of freedom in the morning!)

So, what are your thoughts on GOA and NAGR? How do they differ from the NRA?
Lesa just became a member of the NRA this weekend as well. I have been a member for decades.
We are both sick and tired of the madness about guns. Difference is....she did something about it and put her money where her mouth is. I so wish more of us would do this. Strength in numbers and unity.

The GOA is what the liberals think the NRA is.

I love the GOA, I'm a life member. They are what the NRA should be.

The NRA is the 800 pound gorilla that gets all the attacks from the enemies of liberty, and the NRA is good at that, while the GOA works in the background to try to protect ALL our freedoms.

(P.S. If you use Amazon, go to smile.amazon.com instead, set your charity to "Gun Owners Foundation" and Amazon will make a charitable donation to GOA with every purchase you make as long as you go to smile.amazon.com instead of www.amazon.com, no cost to you.)

NAGR I also like and am a member of, but haven't made the leap to life member yet. GOA seems to be a little more hard hitting overall.

Basically the difference between NRA and GOA or NAGR is the NRA is far more willing to compromise our rights away. GOA and NAGR are "SHALL NOT BE INFRINGED!" groups.

And I love a story with a happy ending!  Anti-gun crap... backfire... hahahaha.

Serk, thanks. I get stuff in my email from GOA but really haven't read it.
I do go to smile instead of plain old Amazon so I have that part down already.
Will look into GOA now based on your "recommendation".
