3 citizens coming home from North Korea. Take your victories where you can. Still possibilities that more positives can come from Trumps handling of foreign affairs.

Happy Trump knows a bad deal when he sees one and has the guts to to stand up against our friends ands foes when it’s called for.

Obama thinks it’s a bad idea so it must be good for America.

Let's see if President Trump has the sack to demand and get Kimmy boy to return the USS Pueblo to it's native port as a commissioned ship of the United States Navy.
I'm sure it is the only naval vessel in the history of this country to ever have been held by an enemy of our nation.
If that topic is not brought up in his meetings with the North Koreans, I would consider him negligent in his position as commander in chief.

I'm sure the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals would order him to return the ship to Pyongyang.

I shudder to think WHAT the Pueblo looks like with out the U S Navy Sailors NOT taking care of the paint and the ship itself. And if you served on a ship and were enlisted you KNOW what a chipping hammer and a length of chain is used for BEFORE application of red lead and Navy Grey. RIDE SAFE.

Interesting concern, that would be kool. Wonder why no other President hasn’t already got it back?

I'm sure there were private talks many times, with extreme negative responses that lead even the dumbest of Presidents to not bring it up in public just to get a giant "L" stamped on their forehead. Until/unless one was willing to threaten and then use an all-out nuclear strike if the ship wasn't returned, conventional wisdom is admit defeat and move on. The time to get it back was within 24 hours of when it was taken. Were I Trump, I wouldn't bring it up in public, nor allow anyone in the admin. to even THINK about breathing the name of the ship in a dream. Too much at stake, and we have to keep out sights on the big prize; a path to a lasting peace on the Korean Peninsula. You can't deal with a crazy person just from a comparison of strength. I wish the President all the best, this current situation is already better than anyone would have bet $5 on before the election. Or the election before that, or that, or that, or that...

The USS Pueblo (AGER-2) was launched in '44 and pirated '68.

One must assume the commies took all the intel, code books, and electronic stuff out of it right away (and much of it may have gone to Russia).  Maybe the power plant too.

I doubt the commies spent more than a buck two ninety-eight to keep it up over the last 50 years.

So it's a rust bucket too big for an outboard or oars.  (Though it would look great tied up in San Francisco harbor, with our commies)

If they do come to the peace table and abandon nukes and stop being lunatics, we should offer for them to keep it as a flagship of their navy.

Here is Kim, spearfishing to feed his people.

For those interested, the North Koreans keep the USS Pueblo as a museum of their great victory over the imperialist Americans to this day...

And yes, the Pueblo is the only ship of the U.S. Navy still on the commissioned roster currently being held captive.

If there is a commander in chief to be blamed, perhaps it should be the one in authority at the time the vessel was taken from US control. The time for demands regarding the ship passed decades ago, overshadowed now by nuclear proliferation and upcoming talks with a "fearless leader" recently given up on as a complete crazy person. Had anyone thought to give it a shot, Dennis Rodman probably could've gotten the ship back by offering 2x scrap value and something with Michael Jordan's autograph, but right now seems a bad time to push for fixing something we screwed up on decades ago.

There is absolutely no reason regarding the contents of the ship itself to ask for it back - all the important stuff has long ago been superceeded.

The symbolism - I'd just take the Pueblo off the commissioned list and let it go. For all practical purposes - it has been.

I agree 110%.

There is too much at stake now to let it fall apart because of a pissing contest over a pile of scrap metal.

Maybe down the road relations can be repaired to the point that North Korea is willing to give the USS Pueblo back as a gesture of friendship.

If they do or if they don't, in the big scheme of things the ship's fate is as insignificant as a flea on an elephant's a$$.
