I don't know if it was true or not but supposedly the story goes something like this.  A guy advertised a car or bike or whatever OBO.  A guy offered him almost nothing for it.  He wouldn't take the offer so they guy took it to court.  The judge asked if if he had a better offer than the guy had offered.  He said no but that was a ridiculous offer.  Judge made him sell it to the guy for what had been offered.
After I heard that one I never used that particular phrase when selling.  Maybe best reasonable offer. :D

Maybe that's why the British use "Or Near Offer"

How about "Best acceptable offer"

Yeah, but when I say something is sick, I mean it's like puke your guts out type of sick. One of my granddaughters used that term recently and just for fun I went and got her a waste basket. When I set it down in front of her, she couldn't figure out what I was doing so I repeated her use of the work. Her response; "grandpa, that's sick!"  I'm so confused!  ;D

Noooooooo!  Don't show me this!  I've already got 6 bikes in my garage!  I just can't do this!   :crazy2:
