New Haven IN

« on: May 18, 2018, 08:18:52 AM »

Went out for a ride with my buddy Doug (six2go)Haller yesterday. I picked a bar for lunch north of Fort Wayne in Orland IN. I met Doug at his house and off we went. We rode north on highway 1 through several little towns and small burgs. Like most roads in Northeast Indiana highway 1 is fairly straight with a few more curves then others but not many more. But it felt good to get another "test" ride in before our trip to Inzane next month. We stopped at the Draft Horse in Orland for lunch. I had a burger Doug had a fish sandwich. The food was OK but not worth the 65 miles to get there. They also seamed to have a fly problem. Many flies flying around the windows. After lunch we got back on the road. We took highway 327 back to Fort Wayne. A nice road but with less curves than 1 but a nice ride through the countryside none the same. Doug and I split NE of Fort Wayne him back to his home in FW me back to New Haven. It was a beautiful day for a ride. Total miles 130. Not a long ride but nice anyway. My "new" knees felt great,no problems. This was my first ride after moving my highway pegs for better comfort and they worked great. I am looking forward to the ride to Roanoke. It's right at 500 miles for us. See you all in Roanoke........

Mark,

Nothing else like it to make a body feel good! Good weather, good company, good roads, no aches and pains... Food is just a detail... I don't ride for dinning experiences, although I do enjoy good food. Nope, food often can serve as an excuse to ride or even to suggest a direction, but other than that, you and Doug hit the major items important to me, anyway. Congrats on the 'new' knees! See ya in Roanoke...

Good on ya buddy! I am getting prepped for some new body parts myself. I will be getting a hip replacement end of August. I believe if it was my left hip I would not be able to ride. Since it is my right, I do try to keep my foot on the peg, might as well since I am braking. But I cannot ride the Valk bobber because it sits too low and that hip just hurts too bad.
I am hoping to have the same successful outcome as you.

Ride hard but ride safe!
