Long story short, sold it to my granddaughter's husband. He's an experienced rider but never bothered to get a Fla. bike endorsement until now. Soon as he got it, he asked if I still had it and if so....he wanted it. It's raining today so he'll be back next weekend to ride it home and will have new plates for it by then. I pointed out to my wife all the room I'll now have and got "that look!" Guess I'll put off a new project for the immediate future....like 10 years maybe.  |

John,
Ahhh… that look! While I'm not married myself, I am a recovering spouse, so... Like all veterans of matrimonial bliss, I'm more than a little familiar with 'that look'! It's been said that nothing sets in motion the reduction of a man's self-esteem or sexual activity like the taste of his own wedding cake...
That look is a weapon of mass destruction able to cut steel, melt icebergs, send shivers up a man's spine, and cause the entire male gender to cringe and cower! We know, therefore, what you mean when you say you were on the receiving end of another... weaponized gesture.
Apparently all women posses that 'skill arrow' in their quiver... I think they come with that as standard equipment right from the womb, but some say it's an acquired skill. Either way, it is devastating, traumatic... and worst of all, it is effective! I know it's caused me to reverse course many, many times!
Good luck to you as you cope with the aftermath of parting with a prized, successful project, and having to look at the void in your garage, and your soul. Those who need a challenge, something to get their hands on and make into something they are creating, have needs folks like yours truly can only contemplate… However, we recognize the reality of that, and we envy your vision and talent... to take what to us appears to be junk and then turn it into something beautiful, functional, and useful. 'That look' has to really sting coming in the middle of all of this...
Having said all of this, I strongly suspect Ms Rita is actually very supportive of you and your 'projects'. That she hurled another of those potentially debilitating 'looks' at you, I'm sure it was not intended to cripple or curtail your next adventure in creativity... Probably no more than habit or reflex, as that seems to come so naturally and automatically for female/lady/women/persons over time...
Anyway, congrats on the completion of another project, and... as 98valk said, the way things have turned out, you'll be able to see that project in action! Condolences and best wishes for a full recovery from the latest assault of 'the look'.

I hoping for another project, need to keep those skills sharp. If it brings you joy, it would be great to see another one, heck with Valkyrie prices so cheap you could do one of those this time.  |

John, Yes, I am aware... and I admire you for the way you have stepped up and shouldered the tasks fate has delivered to you. I surely meant no offense with my comments... rather I was simply making a clumsy effort at humor. God bless you and Rita, and I hope things go as well as possible for you both. You've told me before of your meeting her, the courtship, intimate sharing of thoughts, experiences, and aspirations... a real-life love story worthy of a movie! I know, through you, that she is very special, and that no 'project' other than the one you reference would ever take you from her side now.
