A/C having a hissy fit.

Once I turn the A/C to OFF the fan keeps blowing.

Only way I've found to to stop it is to disconnect the thermostat.

I've repalced the batteries in the thermostat.

Suggestions please.

My device has a setting for fan only. Are you sure you don't have that and if so can it be set to on.  I know, simple but start with easy I always say

That's like me always asking if the kill switch is off when a bike wont start   

That's what a few beers and tequila will do when operating electrical equipment

either your thermostat is bad, or the fan switch is in the on position
