I mounted my Michelin rear up front today. Previously I mounted an 8 ply truck tire on the rear. I think I’m ready for a 6k ride. But it wasn’t without some conundrums. I’ve been mounting my tires for 6 or 7 years now. I cut up a 5 gallon bucket to use for rim protectors. This is what
I found inside my front today.

Evidently I had 5 pieces instead of 4.

I put 12k on that tire and never heard a thing or felt any unbalance. There did appear to be more black rubber mixed in with the balance beads, but other than that the tire looked good inside and out. It’s kind of strange how it broke up into little pieces.
(It’s a rhetorical question, I already know the answer)
