I wonder if during the off-season owners meeting they finally figured out why they have had record low ratings the previous 2 season.  Pretty sure they have known the cause for some time, just failed to act upon it. I've said it before, when the pocket books of billionaire owners are effected, change will happen. Will be interesting to see if the few patriots that come back will offset the America haters that will now boycott them.
(Plus those who aren't boycotting the NFL, just bored of the game in it's current wussified state and quit watching because it's not football anymore.)

Interesting thought, I wonder if the leaning left sports broadcasting networks *cough* 'ESPN' *cough* will tread lightly and not bite the hand that feeds them. |

"wussified" LOVE IT!!! Defense has NO CHANCE with the new rules. Hits we trained for our whole lives playing football (ex D end) to learn and execute are now illegal? How can players reverse 25 years of training and practice? I'll watch the CFL, it's still is, and always will be, the original and best Football!!! |

If I was Trump, I'd issue a directive as the Commander in Chief, that no US military color guard or any other military assets be allowed to open any NFL game or promotions.
No Big flag
No fly over
No Color Guard
etc.
The NFL should immediately stop the playing of the National Anthem and instead require each team to provide at least 5 players to whine about their oppression while at mid field to open the game.
As has been said prior, the damage has been done. The best thing the NFL could do is to do virtually nothing and let this play out. Condemn the practice by saying that the NFL will no longer allow the commercial use of any video that shows such disrespect and to do so would be considered a violation of the license agreement and let the players and the teams defend their own actions.

I am not a big football fan, never have been. Sad part is there are some really good guys on these teams that have to suffer because of the actions of others on the team. I assume they remain mostly silent due to team loyalty and cohesiveness to not affect their play on the field. Some are real gentlemen, some are thugs, some fall somewhere in between. As usual the silent majority remains silent.
The NBA isn’t far behind.
