2 threats made today here in two different schools by school kids. One was an 8th grader, the other I can't recall what grade he was in. One apprehended and placed in juvie, the second I'm not sure of. School systems locked down. WTH is wrong with these kids?!

Do you think these kids that are doing this are involved in the politics of gun control ? And I doubt even if we knew the answer to why they are doing it, that would solve it. I suspect most of these kids are mentally troubled. That's not something we seem to be putting much resources into helping. I definitely doubt anybody is paying these kids to do this. |

last week at work we had an 'active shooter' over 3 hour required meeting to go to with local police. A few good points came out of it learning a few things on what to do and NOT to do but could have summed that up in 30 minutes tops.
points got out of it is if you cannot FLEE do not hide behind desks hunkering down but do SOMETHING like block/barricade doors, shut off lights, and once they shoot thru or bust door down, stay close to door and grab gun and hit him/her in the nose with closed fist while holding onto gun if pistol with one hand or rifle with both hands and do NOT let go no matter what while others come over and overpower him/her anyway possible.
There, just saved you 3 hours of talking wasting company time.

If, the reports are accurate, we have a teacher that truly meets the definition of "hero"!
That term gets thrown around a lot a placed on some who don't deserve it in my opinion.
According to what I read, the shooter was a student in his class, asked to be excused and came back into the classroom with the guns and opened fire. He shot the teacher multiple times (3 is what I read). Shot one female student before the same teacher tackled him and brought I'm down.
This man/teacher is, a HERO in the true sense.

I wonder if this is going to be another shooter that everyone knew was going to do it, and was reported to Law enforcement multiple times and was known to both the Feds and the Local cops, but they didn't do a thing about it, except "investigate it". That seems to be a recurring theme.
We have pussified our Law Enforcement agencies with so many rules and regulations, tied their hands about doing their jobs so they don't hurt the criminals feelings or violate their rights, or they fear repercussions and riots and protests. When we were growing up the cops knew who the bad kids and rejects were and were able to keep them in line, they can't anymore because they can't hurt their feelings. In the good old days something as simple as that piece of Lignum Vitae across your shins would keep you in line and make you think twice about things.
The teachers and Nuns were able to discipline you, and when they were don your parents were able to discipline you too. It was nothing to have a welt across your shins or your butt from a "switch", or your butt reddened from a paddling by the Head Nun, you learned from it, moved on and didn't do it again. Nowadays the smallest mark gets you a visit from DSS.

These shootings are a tragedy. I haven'y heard too much about these 2 shootings, I'm thinking its because the big bad ARs were not used. I feel there may have been some signs well beforehand that were not looked at.
I agree that this teacher is a hero.
