My granddaughter's hubby finally went and got his bike endorsement for Florida, he's an experienced rider that's been away from it for a while and never needed the endorsement in the past. Up till now, he's been riding a little moped type with a low cc motor, just to go to/from work. Problem....he's about 6'5" and a tad north of 300lbs., the scoot wasn't made for that. Two days ago they came by when it wasn't raining and he rode it home. My granddaughter sent a text a couple hours later, said he got up past 80mph on the 417(local toll road) on the way home, big silly grin on his face and he later told her it was solid as a rock at speed. Today, she called and informed me he insisted she call me about how it's been working out to/from work....16 miles. She said she had never seen him so excited, wouldn't shut up about it....and on and on. And now that he's riding it every day he has the shifting and clutch pretty well managed, a matter of getting used to it. She added that he mentioned it's so quick and pulls so strong that traffic isn't a problem keeping up or getting out front.

I can't tell you how good that all makes "grandpa" feel, knowing the time and money spent in recent years has finally given someone else pleasure besides me. I had asked $2100, he gave me $2500, said he didn't want me to "just break even" but should have a little something extra. Below is a list I gave him just so he'd know what had been done to the bike. Should last him for quite some time.
