Well, I finally did it. Wasn't the Interstate I originally was after, but I liked it. 98 standard. Was painted a non-stock color and has some mods here and there. Not a show bike, but not the worst I looked at by far. I already contacted Mark T. about some peg lowering brackets, since I could use the legroom. It was equipped with Ultimate seats by the previous owner. The front is a Big Boy, and I'd prefer a King. I was wondering if anyone has experience with an Airhawk seat pad. Does it give at least 1/2 to 3/4" of lift? If so, I may not even need to try to trade seats with anyone, especially with lowered pegs.

I have an airhawk seat cushion only put just a tad bit of air in it and lifts me up only around 1 cm.  Am sure if  you put more air in it will be close to 1/2 inch lift or so, but nowhere near 1 inch lift.

You do not want to overfill with air on them since they will blow out, is best just to raise you up slightly is all with very little air inside the bladders.

I got mine off craigslist near new from a HD rider who even drove to my place on his 20K+ HD to show his bike off only 50 bucks vs. new 100 or more.  I have seen one from time to time on craigslist under motorcycle parts for say 50-75 bucks vs. 100 or more new

My Airhawk was $170 new in 2009.  I no longer need it, however, it is on loan to my 96 year old mother in law.  She loves it and, no, she does not ride a motorcycle (I know how people think around here).  It's just for her recliner...

If you are attending Inzane in Roanoke this June, there will be a boat load of cool Valkyries with different seats, I would encourage you to wait, try out a few that are there.   We're a pretty friendly bunch as a whole and most of us would be happy to let you sit on our choices.

If you put too much air in an Airhawk cushion (half full or more), it will roll/bounce around on accel/decel.  Not a good thing.

They are for comfort, not height.

There are polymer seat pads that might work to give you some extra height (better than phone books).  And a polymer seat pad, covered with a sheepskin seat cover would work even better (taller).  With the sheepskin, just the right size chunk of firm memory foam might do it too (hidden under the skin).  But that will hold rain water.
