Entertaining they want the butchers to stop killing animals.
Last I heard, butchers have not been killing animals for a long, long time.
They arrive at the butcher's previously killed.
(But if there are any pics of the Meathead chasing chickens around the store with his cleaver, I'd like to see them.)

For Sale , vegan cannibal sandwiches. Let them guess. da prez Yuck, vegan sandwiches would have no protein at all, taste bad (even with hot sauce), and probably make you anemic. But think about this, most of us eat purely vegan beef. Pigs, chickens, and fish are known to eat anything (even each other).

If the Vegans were so worried about the animals they would stop eating all the animals food. Vegans are starving the animals.

The guy that taught me to cut meat was very sensitive about this subject. When people called him a butcher he would get his dander up a little and tell him he was a meatcutter, butchers worked in the slaughterhouses. That was not entirely accurate, but it stuck with me for years. He was like my second Dad. I eventually tired of explaining the difference. (It didn’t matter anyway) No chicken pics, but I was known to chase a moose or two.

Got in a discussion with a Non-meat eater several years ago. The killing/eating of flesh really bother him and he wanted everyone to believe as he did.
I calmly asked him what he ate. He replied only vegetable material. I mentioned that all vegetable food was at sometime alive, and some plant folks felt the plants have feelings and are alive. So killing the plant and eating it was just as bad as killing animals and eating meat. That eating any kind of grains or seeds was eating unborn vegetation. It did stop his ranting about me being a meat eater.

I've had several discussions over the years with non-meat eaters myself. I have no problem with their decision, but there are a few things I've noticed over the years. First off for any members here who are vegans or vegetarians, this is not directed specifically. I don't think in 46 years of working in a meat dept. I've ever initiated a conversation about this. It always seems them that have a need to. I eat meat, I eat a lot of meat. Always have, before this job. When I was 13 and delivering papers at 5am in -30*, it probably wasn't uncommon for me to eat 1/2 lb. bacon, 4 eggs, 1/2 lb. hamburger, 1/2 gallon of ice cream, bowl of moose stew every day. Now, I don't eat all that. But I ain't that far off. I've been relatively healthy most of my life. Good blood pressure, good blood sugar. No prescriptions. My cholesterol has been in the 250-300 range since the first time I had it checked in 1982. Doctor put me on medicine for 6 months. But anti-meat people are constantly touting how they will be healthy and I will not. Anti-meat people are drawn to the meat dept. like moths. I wish I could back this up with a survey or something, but I'd bet 1/2 of all anti-meat people cruise the meat dept. Many just walk by and say nothing. Some will say they are antis but shopping for their friend. Some will just come back to get in a discussion with you. But, man are they ever drawn. If I could have this draw on meat eaters, I could increase business by 30%. I usually just listen and nod. Throw out an occasional "that's good" and such, but I rarely try to engage. One time that I did unintended words were uttered. It worked out fine, but some people get pissed if you make any remarks they deem as mocking. She probably wasn't a Pink Floyd fan and had no idea why I said "if you don't eat your meat, you can't have any pudding. How can you have any pudding if you don't eat your meat ?" I gave it my best British accent, but I'm pretty crappy at accents. There are plenty of problems with all 3 of the major meat industries. It's a HUGE, IMPACTFUL business. I think most of us here would find it interesting the evolution, and wide spread impact it has in our country. Where we've come in just my time is amazing. Don't get me wrong, I'm glad I'm retiring soon. I'm becoming a little tired of all the paperwork nowadays. I guess it's not really accurate to call it paperwork anymore though. "A proud meat eater"
