It happened this week the meeting of the 7 most important industrialized nations in Canada.

For people unfamiliar with the G7: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Group_of_Seven

It seems that the president not only arrived late to the meeting, but suggested to bring Russia back to the G7 (i.e. it was excluded after Putin invaded Crimea in 2014).

Besides that, it seems that the leaders of other countries made concessions to make Trump happy (after all, he was elected on a platform of denying the Atlantic order established by USA past the WWII).

Apparently, after the meeting, the president got his feelings hurt because of this photo (notice that Merkel, Macron, Theresa May are in the opposing side of the table and Shinzo Abe is in the middle):

So he removed USA's approval to endorse the Communique that is traditionally published at the end of the meeting and from the safety of the Air Force One twitted insults (i.e. 'Trudeau is weak and dishonest') to the host of the event (Trudeau).

So what the world thinks about it?

To quote Macron (France's president): "International cooperation cannot be dictated by fits of anger and throwaway remarks. Let's be serious and worthy of our people.".

Guy Verhofstadt (European parliament member) suggested as a caption for the photo Merkel saying: "Just tell us what Vladimir has on you. Maybe we can help.”.

Der Spiegel, the primary German weekly, called Trump’s performance in Quebec "a scandal without precedent".

Indeed, the world is laughing at US.

You have got to be kidding right? That what you gleaned from the coverage? Were not going to take it in the axx anymore and you think the world is laughing, geez.

When I saw that photo I said to myself, President Trump is the man.  It shows that, no matter what the Fake News media says, he owns it.

Its a powerful picture.  He is seated, in control, and the ones standing are the ones that are showing how much they need the US.

Look at the Prime Minister from Japan (Abae I think).  What is he thinking?

Nope Trump is in control and the rest of them know it.  As Trump said, we have been their piggy bank for a long time.

Its time to even things out.  And Trump knows how to deal.

Also while the Canadian crybaby (among others I’m sure) was whining, President Trump offered, Hey, let’s remove all tariffs creating a level playing field and open trade,  and then .......crickets.

Wow I guess those who have never wielded power cannot understand the picture. I totally agree with the above, when you hold the purse strings its easy to say no, if your one that receives the money its not easy to see it removed. He also said things would have come out a bit differently if he had been in the White House about Crimea and that the G8 is a more meaningful group than the G7

https://www.realclearpolitics.com/video/2018/06/09/trump_obama_allowed_russia_to_take_crimea_i_may_have_had_a_much_different_attitude.html

The Art of the Deal great read and Trump is a master at deal making, I am so glad that he is able to negotiate where others have given away.

And something else to warm your heart,

George Soros Complains: Everything That Could Go Wrong, Has Gone Wrong

And a statement by no name

Poor John McCain. The Arizona senator, who’s battling terminal brain cancer, thinks someone died and made him the leader of the free world.

Proving that he’s determined to be a thorn in President Trump’s side even on his deathbed, McCain once again tried to undermine the billionaire by slamming the tariffs Trump slapped on China and Canada (you know, like the ones they charge on American goods).

Senator McCain tweeted during the G7 Summit: “To our allies: bipartisan majorities of Americans remain pro-free trade, pro-globalization and supportive of alliances based on 70 years of shared values. Americans stand with you, even if our president doesn’t.”

In another article below

And below read the article but read the comments people are getting sick and tired of this garbage.

Andrea Mitchell’s report was so egregious that Brian Kilmeade actually had to stop an fix it for her

CNN producer must have taken drama classes when he went to school for journalism. This is unbelievable and hilarious at the same time.  2funny 2funny Seems he sure knew the meaning of the picture with everyone around him.

CNN producer Greg Hughes, apparently unhappy that the photo showed a number of world leaders gathering around President Trump, insisted that the photo was just “clever visual messaging” and claimed without evidence that the event was a “group signing.

“Pretty clever visual messaging here from the White House — taking some kind of group signing event and framing it instead to show President Trump seemingly holding court,” Hughes tweeted.

I don't agree with everything President Trump says or does, but in so far as this issue goes, he's doing exactly what I hired him to do.

Really, should anyone have expected a different result from these Socialist(Marxist) Globalists?
The European Union is on borrowed time as can be seen with recent elections in Italy and Austria, and eventually(inevitably) The Netherlands, Britain and it's Brexit that the British Elitist Globalists are actively trying to derail(but will ultimately fail). People here in Canada are beginning to wake up to the SJW Feminist Pinhead who is pulling an "Obama" ...but sadly... it will take a while here...We are way too polite to raise a stink for more than a couple minutes without reeling ourselves back in...It's the Canadian Way.
Trump is Single-Handedly throwing a big pipe wrench into the "GlobalWerks Apparatchik".
You Folks should thank God every Day that Hillary was not elected. I wish I could say the same here about Justine and his social engineering ship of fools.

Well, the way I see it is a petulant little child pulling an attitude and leaving because they hurt his feelings.  He then tweets from the safety of Air Force One saying Trudeau is 'weak'.  Very ironic, since he wouldn't say it to his face.  I would call that act very weak.

I don't care for Trudeau one bit, but you don't walk out on talks and then bad mouth the other negotiators because you are out of your league.  Trump needs to stand up and act like a man.

Also, he lied about putting on the tariffs on aluminum and steel because of national security when all along it was because of the dairy industry and the tariff Canada put on the dairy from the US.  Just tell the truth in the first place.

Trump and Trudeau were getting pretty buddy buddy and had been meeting quite a bit. What if Trudeau did not keep his end of the deal and instead folded like a house of cards when it came to the negotiation game. Like a poker game you always keep a straight face and I think this is more what Trump was talking about. Trudeau strikes me as being wishy washy and in these negotiations its not a thing that will work.

I remember one other that did a similar thing and that was mc cain on the health care issue. Sometimes someone says they will do something then purposefully does the opposite. It totally screws the plan when they could have been a man and said they are not going to do it up front.

Actually all them other folks are out of their league. Plus it is true that Trudeau is weak, so is Merkel and that French guy. The Japanese guy is cool though, he knows what is going on. He wouldn't let all the crap going on in Canada and Western Europe into his country. I agree, lets bring the Russians back into this, along with the Eastern European Nations, start a new G-7 and kick all the wussies out of it.

If Trump can't sit down and talk to a Canadian and get results, how does he expect to get anything from a dictator like Kim.  Kim is just playing Trump.  He is not going to get rid of his nukes.  He might say he is, but he will still have them and develop them in secret.  Kim just wants the sanctions off and then he will go back to his old ways and Trump will buy into it and then say what a great job he did.

Standing up and walking out is a negotiating technique. One that can be highly effective.

I am surprised people still do not understand Trump.  He is a negotiator, this is how he negotiates, it's that simple.

If you want Supply Management gone in the dairy and poultry industry, fine. (Many in western Canada are against it but that’s not Trudeau’s base).  If you want free market, fine, eliminate your subsidies to your dairy farmers too. Negotiate for that at the negotiation table.

The name calling doesn’t do any relationship or bargaining any good though.

You guys really need to stop gazing at Trump's prostate and see him for what he really is.  He is not a good negotiator, he thinks that he is and he was a good one at one time, but now he isn't.  His tactics may work in the business world, but it doesn't cut it in the political world.

He may look good to you now, but I suspect that the house of cards he has created will come crashing down and you guys are going to be the ones to feel it.  He will just get on his private jet and fly away to his  mansion.

He's  had a pretty good record so far. But I guess you can't  see that.

I’m loving it, we finally have someone in office with some real balls, I noticed as I was stareing at his prostate.

Supply Management is just another term for screwing the Canadian Consumer and Protecting the Producer from fair competition, like any other free enterprise business faces every day. If a producer  can't run lean and mean with a business plan, maybe he should find something else to do. Free Trade is hard to negotiate when Government is artificially price fixing and protecting businesses like milk producers. It's a Cartel no matter what label you attach to it.

Well it looks like Ontario FINALLY decided to vote with a Brain to rid themselves of 15 years of Liberal Economic Suicide ...hopefully they vote WITH a BRAIN when it comes to the next Federal Election to rid this country of the 11 year old girly-man and his globalist handlers. Trudeau hurt Canada's chances at the negotiating table from this week forward, and the G7 is about to face "fair & equitable" tariff hell. Poking Trump in the eye is not a strategy...just ask the Cabbage Patch Dictator how that works out.
BTW that "so called" petulant child is in Singapore going where no one has been in 75 years and is dealing with the humanitarian disaster North Korea...win or fail, it at the very least "is a start". To be continued whether you or "F" Bomb Artist Robert DeNiro like it or not. Getting a Grip on the Reality Of It All Looks More Like a Life Strategy than Living in Denial.

OMG, somebody better warn Trump and the State department!!!
Just kidding, he's not going to agree to anything toothless, involving pallets of cash, or draw a line in the sand with invisible ink, and THAT guy got a Nobel prize while he was still unpacking from his move to the White House. uglystupid2

I'm fine with that, let the milk price rise to whatever it needs to be, but it'll have to go both ways.
Off topic, but does Canada still have content/mfg. laws for automobiles where "X" amount of a manufacturer's product has to be made in Canada to avoid costly taxes? Just curious, I honestly don't have a clue if that went away with NAFTA or...? That really helped the Windsor, Oshawa, etc. economies and other Canadian cities that ended up with local plants for US cars, even though the Studebaker one in Hamilton did close and get torn down. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WQu7pJ4HSJI

==============================================================

Navarro, the Trump trade adviser, said his harsh assessment of what “bad faith” Trudeau did with “that stunt press conference” on Saturday “comes right from Air Force One.”

He said Trump “did the courtesy to Justin Trudeau to travel up to Quebec for that summit. He had other things, bigger things, on his plate in Singapore. ... He did him a favor and he was even willing to sign that socialist communique. And what did Trudeau do as soon as the plane took off from Canadian airspace? Trudeau stuck our president in the back. That will not stand.”

Kudlow, in a separate TV appearance, said Trudeau was “polarizing” and “really kind of stabbed us in the back.” The Canadian leader pulled a “sophomoric political stunt for domestic consumption,” Kudlow said, that amounted to “a betrayal.”

“Don’t blame Trump. It was Trudeau who started blasting Trump after he left, after the deals had been made.” Kudlow said Trump won’t let people “take pot shots at him” and that Trudeau “should’ve known better.”

But the criticism left a former Canadian prime minister, Stephen Harper, stumped. “I don’t understand the obsession with trade relations with Canada,” he said, given that Canada is the biggest single buyer of American goods and services in the world. From promoting democracy and to fighting terrorism, “we’re on the same page. We’re the closest partners in the world and you don’t want to see a dispute over one particular issue poison everything.”

Trudeau had said Canadians “are polite, we’re reasonable, but also we will not be pushed around.” He described all seven leaders coming together to sign the joint declaration despite having “some strong, firm conversations on trade, and specifically on American tariffs.”

In the air by then, Trump tweeted: “Based on Justin’s false statements at his news conference, and the fact that Canada is charging massive Tariffs to our U.S. farmers, workers and companies, I have instructed our U.S. Reps not to endorse the Communique as we look at Tariffs on automobiles flooding the U.S. Market!”

He followed up by tweeting: “PM Justin Trudeau of Canada acted so meek and mild during our @G7 meetings only to give a news conference after I left saying that, “US Tariffs were kind of insulting” and he “will not be pushed around.” Very dishonest & weak. Our Tariffs are in response to his of 270% on dairy!”

Navarro would be a tough guy to debate. He kept that fox reported under control very well. As for the foreign countries go suck blood some where else and get your own house in order. I feel for the Canadians. You didn't learn from our mistake with Obama. Good luck with this left winger.

Standing up and walking out is a negotiating technique. One that can be highly effective.

^This.  Some of the best deals I've ever made started with me simply walking away.

If you think Trump is doing well.  Read this piece on the auto industry.  Anyone here work in the auto industry....maybe not much longer.

https://www.huffingtonpost.ca/2018/06/11/trump-auto-tariffs-impact_a_23456366/

If he imposes tariffs, then I can honestly say that he does not know what he is doing.  Looks like it may hit Americans more than anyone else.  This could send the world into a recession.  ???

A multipurpose publication. You can read it or wipe your ass with it, neither of which is very satisfying.

But doesnt US have milk tariffs as well? The is what our milk industry is saying in NZ, they say we have tariffs to sell milk to USA

So I guess your steel industry needs to learn how to run lean and mean rather than be protected Tongue

What I don't get is why aren't deals done behind closed doors and nutted out properly and not on twitter and in the media (not digging at one party there, seams they all play silly games)

First I would like to say I have known about Trump most of my adult life, and he has always been a back stabbing A**hole. As far as having ball's, the man has none. When he wants to fire someone, he always has someone do for him because he is a coward. He is a draft dodging coward like his two son's. It makes me want to vomit when I see him salute the troops. He has no moral's, and has cheated on every one of his wives multiple times even when Melania was home with their two month old son. This man lies when it is easy to tell the truth, and I don't believe he even knows what the truth looks like. Maybe if people would get their news from somewhere besides Fox and Friends they might learn something. You all that voted for him can have him and I wish you all the luck in the world. As far as this Kim thing, it is just a show so he can garnish more adulation because that is all he lives for. I am a Viet Nam vet, 73 years old, and not a Democrat.
John

PS: Sorry if I have pissed you Trump supporters off but after reading some of the posts here I had to voice my opinion. Have a good night, and ride safe.
