This is not what you will hear on the news and not what the networks will present in showing the awards ceremony but this needs to be known. I am appalled at the standing ovation that Deniro received, and while the statement is bad its the approval of Hollywood to this action that is the most appalling. Something needs to be done.

To me they basically are thumbing their noses at the very people that support them since Trump has enacted policies that have benefited many that support them.

Two weeks after Robert De Niro issued a complete ban for Donald Trump from his restaurants, and just months after he unleashed a profanity-laden tirade in January, in which he called Trump “baby in chief,” “jerkoff in chief” and “a fking idiot", overnight the aging "Raging Bull" took his feud with Trump to a new level when De Niro repeatedly declared "Fk Trump” while speaking onstage at the Tony Awards on Sunday night to introduce Bruce Springsteen’s musical performance, and promptly received a standing ovation.

It's his right to say whatever he wants. It is also his employers right not to hire him for any more movies.

Don't they know that the majority of folks who support them financially and keep them in business by buying their crap are on Trumps side???

As I commented in the G7 thread...Getting a Grip on the Reality Of It All Looks More Like a Life Strategy than Living in Denial.
The Hollywood Echo Chamber is just noise that bounces around in their "Borg Collective" heads and has done so for decades...difference is that the "Flyover Deplorables" are walking away with their wallets...question is...when will the NFL and Hollywood get a grip on THAT reality.

I will say it again,, We all have the right to say whatever we want,, but then we will also suffer the consequences for what we say also. That is a fact.

I would not spend one dime on anything associated with Springsteen or Robert. Never did like Springsteen anyhow. He can't sing.

Another case of a Hollywood arsehole being over whelmed by a feeling of his own self importance.  He's come a long way since "Taxi" and maybe he should go back .

Keep in mind also the hollyweirds were gonna leave should Trump become P O T U S. Have Any of the hollyweirds left? Far as deniros diareha of the mouth-he also if the rekememberer be wurking praised the former potus. Put it in perspective his ravings don't mean spit in a kaka storm. Far as the rest of the hollyweirds in attendance praising that dumb ass-Again-perspective. I fer one have NOT gone to a movie theater for awhile. Do NOT give em what's in yer wallet and when their-hollyweirds-"entertainment" continues to LOSE money-well ain't hard to figure the results when yer "product" dies on the vine!  Evil RIDE SAFE.

I am not so forgiving , its his right, lets have a little respect for the office, many did not like the past administration but they still respected the office. Sh$$ comes in many forms and one is called a big portion of Hollywood, singers, the wealthy and sports figures. How many kids, teenagers, young adults and adults have these people as roll models? It is a sad society that dads , moms, grandpas, grandmas, brothers and sisters are not at the top of the list as roll models . Some are not worth a crap as roll models so they look else where. Many are right there at home and try but are rejected. What has become of our society?

The point concerning hollywood alienating all the people who support them actually doesn't amount to anything. People still go to their movies and buy their music. Sure, there's a few thousand of diehard politically minded folks who will "boycott" a film or two but we've never seen any reports of big drops in boxoffice revenues since Trump came along. If all Trump supports actually did stop supporting them it would be quite evident. I don't see it ever happening.

Same with the NFL and their BS. If all the patriots who are offended by their snubbing the Anthem had actually stopped watching and attending their games, it would have been instantly disastrous for them. Ain't gonna happen. People say one thing from the keyboard but do whatever they want otherwise.

Yeah, DeNiro is a classless dick and all I can hope is that his anti-Trump cheerleading in front of one of the most liberal, anti-American crowds in the nation doesn't go unnoticed by those who love America. Timing couldn't have been worse, too, with important talks with N Korea. Hollywood asshats.

Trump is his own worst enemy, but Hollyweird is a close second.

I think it is wonderful, whiny progs like him being so publicly outraged, just ensures another Trump victory and keeping the Dems out of office for a good while.....maybe for a very long time. They say there was an awaking when Obama won, well the awaking which has occurred under Trump has been a re-awaking and true awaking. The silent majority stays silent until it matters, and the silent majority is running on all cylinders right now.  Wink

I'm with the boycott of him, his movies and restaurants. Both of him and those like him. So, I don't pay to see very many movies anymore.

There is a time and place for everything.  This was neither the time, nor the place to do something like that.  These stars need a reality check.  You can display your displeasure with the current administration in a decent and tactful manner.  If you are not happy with the President then cast your vote in another 3 years for a change of administration.  I am not happy with Trump, but he is still the President of the USA and for that I give hime some respect.  I still think that he is a crybaby, though.   2funny

Screaming that, in front of that audience, took no courage at all. No harder than screaming, "I love Honda Valkyries!!!!" at Inzane.
I bear no ill will towards Mr. Di Niro, it's very common behavior for a child that feels he's not important, or getting any attention. Probably upset nobody can tell the difference between Robert De Niro, Al Pacino, or Martin Scorsese, or bothers trying.
