Not sure about this number I have seen it on the showroom floor and it was closer to 80K. I have a 17 Corvette Grand Sport I only have 460HP but the car drives like it is on rails. The Z06 which has 650 HP would cost between $85-115 the ZR1 if you could even find one to buy is over $120 I don't think you can compare the Mustang handling to the Corvette and putting 800HP in one is downright dangerous on the road maybe at the track but I'll take a pass. I love me Vette I had a C6 my wife and I took a trip to Bowling Green to the factory and fell in love with the C7 Grand Sport as they were coming off the line for the first time. A few months later we traded our car in. This is a stock photo but mine looks the same. 12971 by David Sokol, on Flickr

I dug around and indeed the base one is $39k...the fear is the rear tires aren't all that wide and with the traction/stability turned off a few people are going to lose control at most any speed with the power on...I have a stock 2003 Z06 w/405 h.p. and somebody w/drag radials ran a 10.88 w/one..cams and headers and tune run some $5,000 for about a 100 hp...it is still worth around $25k w /65k miles..it is tempting to sell and get the 'stang..I'm 61 and live a mile from work...I actually stood next to Bruce Mclaren and all the racing greats from the 60's,70's and 80's at several race tracks as a family friend ran a bunch of Can-am races as a back-marker then--one day at Elkhart Lake ,Wisconsin Roger Penske was in the paddock -I was 17 and my dad told me to go ask him for a job..I chickened out and did medicine--what a ride that could have been ......

Early on a Sunday heading downtown from Roswell on 8 lane GA400. A low, wide, black, rip roaring monster came screaming onto the road just ahead of me. it sounded like the gates of Hell had just opened in front of me. It left rubber down the road for quite a way and disappeared into the distance. At that time it was plain black.

Heck of a horsepower buy for the dollar. Best but in the world on 4 wheels.
Mustang/Corvettes, have had both, like them both, they both have come a long way since their introduction, in handling and horsepower.
Some of both have been coffins with wheels over the years, for the less talented.
An idiot can get themself killed on a bicycle, do not blame the vehicle.
