Handle Hi jacking

Has anyone else had their handle/user name taken by someone else during the change to the new site?
Had mine ripped off by someone who had last week emailed me direct to see if I was still using my handle of Blackduck. Told him I was indeed still using it as I have done for years.
He got onto the new site before me and registered as Blackduck knowing full well I was still using it.
Should be fun as Photo stash and gallery still run under Blackduck with my password.
Not happy.

There's another "Skeeter" which worked on the old board. Admin now calls him "Skeeter (Tx)" and I'm "Skeeter (Va)"....My problems are functional with this board...after I send this to you and touch "previous"..I go back to the main board which is a good thing, but not where I left off and only one page available..soooo, I have to go back to 'Home" and start from the start....someday...?

Skeeter, get to your main page and find a topic you want to read.

RIGHT click it and open in a new window.

Read it, reply to it or  whatever ya want.

All done, hit the 'X' in the upper right hand corner and presto, you is back to the page you came from ready to read another thread.

RIGHT click is required on each post to save where you were in the main folder.

I would like to see a change to the first-come first -served for registration of handles.  someone else is using a handle I had been using for at least 6 years and they just registered today.  I can't tell by what I can see on their profile when he first signed on, but I think they should use member #s to settle disputes.  When I researched on the old main page my old handle, there were a bunch of people using the same handle. The new system only allows one. I'll probably have to use a new one nowjavascript:void(0);

[The Original Ghostrider VRCC #427]

Had my handle hi-jacked on old board a couple of years after joining and the one that did it, got me locked out by in-appropriate posting. I was the first Ghostrider and still The Original Ghostrider, Member #427. There has been lots of highs and a few lows on these boards. The majority of the members respect each other, even when they don't agree with the others post. I agree with having a disputed handle settled by membership number. If someone takes the handle you have been using for years, I would like to think Admin would step in if it is disputed. I like the fact the staff is trying to improve the boards. Maybe there would be a way to link to member handles already used to minimize handle jacking.

What we need is a death match.... A challenge and a contest to qualify holders of names for the site.... It could get very interesting... So how about it... challengers anyone?

There is no hi-jacking or "ripping off" involved.  There are some handles that were used by multiple people (ie Scott, Skeeter, Hollywood, Bear, etc).  Those people just need to come up with some way to identify themselves in this new format such as adding an extra character or possibly a different spelling of the handle.  That is the easiest fix that there is.  Bickering over who had a handle first does not solve anything and just creates a headache for the administration.

Yeah, someone hijacked my handle too. And the guy tends to act like an ass sometimes. So if you see someone posting under my handle... and acting like an ass... it's not me.
