The difference between political affiliation and sexual orientation (or skin color) is that only one is a choice.

Which one of the 3 is a choice?

And here we go again...

I will help you out by providing 1/3 of the answer: you don't choose your skin color when you are born.

Unless the restaurant owner's religion prohibits the serving of food to those of a different political orientation, how is this even comparable?

Pretty sickening and I feel bad for Sanders, she does a great job and handles herself very well, this was undeserved. I would hope that someone would sue them and but Sanders is not gay but maybe they can find grounds.
Agreed, regarding how she handles herself. It's always been a tough job, and the current President and times has to be as trying as we've seen lately. If I had that job, I'd be on heroin or in a rubber room by now, she's one tough cookie. I really hope she doesn't lower herself to the state where she'd sue, however. I'd leave that to the professionally aggrieved segment of the nursery. No judge's ruling is needed to see what happened there. No different than Roseanne being fired and Samantha Bee still being paid millions to be a hateful feckless trumpet. Eff DeNiro and Fonda(s), too, but even they deserve to be able to sit down and order a meal.  Sadly, if this continues I can see BOTH sides riding through the countryside in pointy hoods, torching Chik Fil A's, Red Hen(ish) eateries, and anything else that is "wrong". But that's always been the left's plan because it takes way too long to do it with votes compared to martial law. Hope they know what they're pushing for.

I totally agree, except with the suit,

The reason is this issue was one of sexual discrimination since the real issue was gays or transgenders in the military. It was in the paper that the waiters being gay didn't like Sanders being there and when the owner called was told this, so it wasn't only Trumps policies. In fact the employee bragged about it before and caused Sanders to answer that posting and was since taken down. That put this issue squarely in the realm of sexual discrimination or even a hate crime. It also elevates above religious freedom since its ok to throw out someone either because of the gay issue or on conscience issues but its not ok on religious grounds. That is a really slippery slope and the freedom of religion is stated in the Constitution the others are not.

The two cases when cake shops decided not to make a cake for gays was prosecuted, penalized 135k by the city, lost their businesses and had to fight in courts. All because they didnt want to make a cake. Thats just not fair, right, and the Supreme court decided in favor of one cake shop and now there has to be another ruling on the other one. Yet this place will get away with it?

I think that needs to be prosecuted and stopped to let the moral deciders know that its not ok and what they are doing there is no legal backing and no protection by the Constitution. It also will stop green lighting any sort of emotional price inflicted on people are who are endorsing the policies these people dont like.

I have never seen in this country that its ok to shout, intimidate, physically harm, people or proceedings that are against your views. We have the left suing, belittling, screaming now and trying intimidation tactics but do it to them and you are in court. The only way this stops is obviously in court. Isn't it about time that shouting in peoples faces, shouting in auditoriums, stopping legal meetings by hoodlums, stopping legal protests with illegal ones and with violence, stops. This is the green light NO prosecutions, NO legal cost, NO lives destroyed to make them think it may not be such a good idea.

When Trump was elected many were afraid to express who they were going to vote for now we see why and it needs to stop.

This is why this all needs to stop some top headlines that are not in the news

Just a question. You get so prickly so quickly.

If you make a statement and expect not to be questioned maybe you shouldn't post on a public forum.

I asked because -

Small point on the "Bake the cake" thing...

I've seen NO instances of any bakery, Christian or other, that's refused to serve gay people.

I've seen instances of Christian bakeries who refused to make gay wedding cakes.

They would, the ones I've researched at least, happily make a regular wedding cake for a gay customer with no qualms.

They just refused to make a gay wedding cake.

Subtle, but very important distinction.

Judicial Watch Obtains IRS Documents Revealing McCain’s Subcommittee Staff Director Urged IRS to Engage in “Financially Ruinous” Targeting

(Washington, DC) – Judicial Watch today released 281 pages of newly uncovered emails of former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton from the U.S. Department of State sent and received over her unsecure, non-“state.gov” email system. The emails, dated 2010 through 2013, contain classified information and detail collusion between the Clinton State Department and the Clinton Foundation.

A Poem by Tecumseh

"So live your life that the fear of death can never enter your heart. Trouble no one about their religion; respect others in their view, and demand that they respect yours. Love your life, perfect your life, beautify all things in your life. Seek to make your life long and its purpose in the service of your people. Prepare a noble death song for the day when you go over the great divide.
Always give a word or a sign of salute when meeting or passing a friend, even a stranger, when in a lonely place. Show respect to all people and grovel to none.
When you arise in the morning give thanks for the food and for the joy of living. If you see no reason for giving thanks, the fault lies only in yourself. Abuse no one and no thing, for abuse turns the wise ones to fools and robs the spirit of its vision.
When it comes your time to die, be not like those whose hearts are filled with the fear of death, so that when their time comes they weep and pray for a little more time to live their lives over again in a different way. Sing your death song and die like a hero going home."

~ Chief Tecumseh

I am constantly challenged by these words.    Respecting the views of others when I know in my heart they are in opposition to my own views is hard to do.    But, I bite my lip most of the time, I figure they will eventually figure it out or, my view will alter based on my own experiences.

It ain't always easy being a Conservative and I do feel sympathy for a few mis-guided individuals.   Regardless of one's perspective, we all have the right to make decisions and mistakes but, we are also responsible for the consequences of those decisions.    I include myself in that.

History has shown repeatedly that socialism fails.    Most Liberals have socialist goals.   I'll leave it at that.
