Although we enjoy the ride it is more of a skills test then something you can share with other Riders. We all discussed whether we would ride it again but we'd sooner ride the Blue Ridge Parkway again then the tail.  24 minutes long

I made this trip two years ago in my last Corvette I came home and had to change my tires.
It was a great trip I would have a hard time deciding what to take back either my bike or my new Corvette tough call!

I did the tail itself 2 years ago and thought it wasn't much different than many roads in  NW Arkansas--Arkansas has Highway 123 as it's Tail of the Dragon---much more remote and I saw no kill-joys--google "Motorcycle Arkansas"...there are a lot of scenic and challenging roads 6 hours from Dallas...of course they aren't nearly as long and beautiful as the eastern Tennessee roads but aren't a 2  long day rides away fro the D/FW metroplex---in the fall quite a few bikes head up there and the killjoys seem to pretty much stick to the cities--in Arkansas you cannot rev your motor in the cities..they will write you a ticket...do not pass anything..home or car at a blazing pace...they will complain to the authorities but of course in the forests there are not a lot of homes---deer are thick and come out of the forests  to feed on the grass in the ditches by the sides of the road in the morning and evening-be mindful and careful

97blkvalk,
I usually avoid the Tail of the Dragon unless it is an off day and preferably cold or some other reason why it would be deserted.  Too many vehicle operators there testing their skills for my full enjoyment.  There are so many great roads throughout the Appalachian Mtn range it is very easy to find a road that is fun to ride.

Thanks for sharing the video.
