I was wondering what to expect at the pump when traveling. We have the AAA, World card for our main credit card and I thought there would b a YouTube vid showing this, but not that I can find. Yes many speak English in both countries but I’m sure the pump is not in English.   Maybe I will make the first video.

Thanks Serk good info there. Maybe to be more specific, I wonder about the text steps needed to get the pump ok’d to fuel the car.  Over here it asks credit or debit and zip code for credit as we will be using.  We will pay for cell phone service, $10 a day for the three weeks we are there so as long as I have service I could google the language to English if need be, especially as there are many unmanned pumps there. I over think things like being in the middle of nowhere and having a struggle. The first part of the journey is Tromsø and it looks to be quite remote up there.

I don't know about Norway and Sweden. But I suspect they would be similar to Ireland. Piece of cake.  cooldude You won't have any problem. I recommend getting a cell phone locally when you get there, if you need one. They are cheap. And an electrical plug converter. Have fun !

Ireland is primarily English speaking these days.

I thought I was royally screwed in Iceland when I inserted my credit card in the gas pump and the pump requested my PIN. I had no idea my Visa credit card even had a PIN. I tried my standard 4 digit PIN and it worked. Sometimes it pays to be less secure. I am working on assigning new and different PINs when needed.

I do not know anything about World card, but many cards have a transaction conversion fee to convert to Krone or Krona (or Euro). I made sure my credit card had no conversion fee.

At the pump, I would expect some seriously high prices.  Evil

I work with a bunch (8-10) of Weegies and a couple of Fins. I'll ask at work tomorrow.

Have been to Sweden many times while working for Volvo Penta, the marine division of Volvo. Would go every other year for Engineering meetings. Travelling is easy. Fuel is purchased by the litre however. Spent a bunch of time at different spots in that country, mostly anywhere there was water. Countryside reminded me a lot of Tennessee. Most of the younger folks speak English. Make sure you find a good restaurant that serves Reindeer....amazingly good!
