I'm going back to your incident of the failed alternator where you used one of those jump start battery packs to keep the bike running. Would you share the make/model of that battery pack?

John:

Answering for Bruce here, I'm sure he'll correct me if wrong, but a lot of guys are using this:

You'll be amazed at all the uses for this. Charges off USB. I use it to charge all my other devices & power air pumps, etc.

I have the 1000 Watt model, its already paid for itself. Quality product, ~$100/1000 Watt. I've seen similar packagung with other makers labels (Rayovac is one I just bought at work).
Noco may be the original maker, not sure. It lives in my saddle bag.

CHEERS.

I see Harbor Freight has something similar but don't know the specs on it. Definitely something I'll carry for exteneded travel if I ever am able to do it again.

John
The one that you are asking about is called "the Rugged Geek"

https://www.amazon.com/INTELLIBOOST-Portable-Charging-Emergency-Motorbikes/dp/B01AKQPBE8/ref=sr_1_fkmr0_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1530238177&sr=8-1-fkmr0&keywords=rugged+geek+jump+start+air+compressor

I bought one after reading the first thread, at that time they had an air compressor included in the kit, I can not find it now.
I had an issue with mine when I bought it, it would not take a charge, I called the company and they sent me another complete unit within a few days, the second one works as advertised.

John,

Yep, the Rugged Geek (Intelli-geek) unit is the one I've found best for my needs. Having both the power boost for low battery recharge or for use to get me off the side of the road when the alternator fails is really handy when needed! Also, the ability to pump up tires when low is also rather useful when that need arises! I've used it for all those applications, and I've been mighty glad I had it at those times!!!

I joined Punisher on a ride around the Ozarks once upon a time, and he introduced me to that particular unit. I looked on the internet at several different products, then decided his choice to be the one I wanted to go with, too, precisely because of that dual feature. Your needs may vary, so do select one that makes the most sense for your own anticipated needs...

I ordered one right away after he showed me his, and it's been aboard since whenever ALI's kickstand is up! I'm still using the original case it comes in, but Allan changed to another type of carrying case for his... personal thing, and you may decide to experiment with yours, should you choose to go that way.

The only 'not perfect' thing I've found is the screw-on for the tire valve stem... Hard to get it on tight enough by hand to add those last few pounds of pressure, so I go ahead and have a pair of pliers handy whenever I use the pump feature... Other than that, I wholeheartedly endorse that dual purpose unit! Good luck!!!

P.S. I do hope things are OK with you and Rita... And, I hope your inquiry implies you're thinking about a return to riding... soon!
