You must reply by message to the listing member.
Keeps down the comments not relative to a sale.

As others have said, you need to send a private message to the person selling the item. Whatever the reasoning was, I applaud it. Ive seen so many classified ads turn into a peeing match when someone, who has no interest in buying said item, comments that the price is too high or whatever. Keeps it nice and tidy. And civil. Thanks to the admin team for that.
