I have to wonder sometimes - I guess "too much" is just enough for some people Smiley

Better to have it (horsepower) and not need it than to need it and not have it. When it comes to horsepower I have never achieved “too much”. I think the turbo Valkyries make more horsepower but they are kind of “busy”in the looks department and I imagine a lot more expensive.

Wow, that's so tempting. Then I'm reminded of the fact that for a man my age, there are two things in life we don't need:  1) A fast bike  2) A fast woman. I've had both in years long past....one by choice, one by chance(you decide which applies to what Wink)  and they'll both get you killed.  Roll Eyes

Guy I used to race dirt roundy round with had a plaque on his race car where he could see it and in his tow vehicle where he could see it. Plaque read-if it's got-rhymes with pits-or an engine it WILL git ya in trouble. RIDE SAFE.

Dennis, that reminds me of when I was a kid hitting the drag strip from time to time. There was a guy with a sign on the inside of his trailer that said; "it's an old car with an old motor....the camshaft doesn't cam, the carbs won't carb, the lifters won't lift, and the pistons don't do much either!"  Grin

If I could afford it, it would not be in Florida.   smitten

Pretty awesome (I wish I could convince my wife to allow me to buy another valkyrie)!
 cooldude

A tech question though: the final drive/splines in our 'regular' valkyries take some serious beating with the stock motor (and the many reports of ruined splines here certainly help to confirm it) due to the use of a hot-rodded goldwing engine with pretty much the same drive train.

I wonder if a turbo charged or super-charged valkyrie wouldn't eat splines for breakfast?

By the time you’re done parting the blue bike you can buy this one and pay for the gas to ride it back with greenbacks blowing out of your pockets along the way!

Of the few owners I’m familiar with, no one had spline problems as long as they were properly serviced. Get the tuning wrong and burnt pistons or broken piston lands are possible.

I've never heard any problems with the splines due to the power or hotrodding.  If there was to be a problem in the drivetrain due to the power, I'd think it would show up in lessened life of the u-joint.
