Trump says some of the countries aren't paying their fair share. I don't know if it is new math or something, but I figure the US ought to be paying 1/29th of the bill for NATO, and so should everyone else.

Not only that, but lets not forget all the Army and USAF bases we maintain over there (and the USN Mediterranean 6th fleet) for the common defense. That costs more than a few measly million each year. |

From memory, NATO funding is supposed to be based on a percentage of each country's GDP.
My understanding is that some are paying no where near what they have agreed to pay and the US is picking up the tab. Feel free to correct me if I am wrong.

And yes, why is demanding that the rest of the countries contribute to their own defense such a terrible thing? Because Trump beat a democrat for the Presidency. But this is just yet another thing that the last guy paid lip service to, and then did nothing. That list just keeps getting longer and longer. Obama should be hired by the our soccer team because his leg must be so strong from kicking cans for 8 years. |

While I was NOT around when this went down and I KNOW it ended up being a coalition but as I've read we had far as winning-men and material-an awful LOT to do with securing a win in WWII? And don't some of those Countries we saved STILL owe us for "stuff" from WWII?. Far as the rest of em gittin up offin their wallets and even callin them out-maybe the needed that kick in the ass. Has a bank or Any lending institution been "nice" during repossession or foreclosure? Yeah-thought not. Duz our P O T U S piss off a lot of folks?
